A slant route is one of the most common pass plays. Any professional receiver should be able to handle one.
@Jack Slacker nah bc some wrs are not quick. Example Robby is fast but not quick so most db can play press coverage. Antonio Brown and Amari Copper are quick so you don’t know what route they going to run. Also if the wr don’t have good hands or timing that can lead to a tipped ball and easy int since the qb will be throwing fastballs. That’s what separate dj Moore, Abdullah, CMC from the rest of the wrs… cough Robby n Chubba

You certainly don’t throw deep passes to slow receivers. So if you can’t throw a short pass to them either then what good are they as receivers?
@Jack Slacker the wrs on the panthers are fast . Most run 4.4 and slower especially Robby. But DJ Moore the only one that quick to run any kind of routes. Robby is just straight line sprinter speed. He can’t get open on short routes.

There’s countless memories with cam under center for the panthers, and countless memories of cam giving back to communities in the Carolinas. @Justin Gower Just giving my opinion, man. I’m not saying Cam is a bad dude or anything like that at all, I’m looking at this just on a Carolina Panthers football level. To me “everything” means at least giving us back-to-back winning seasons (which still hasn’t happened ever for the franchise), make a run(s) in the playoffs, and eventually win a super bowl. _That_ would be Cam giving us “everything” in my book. I’m also not denying his abilities as a rushing QB; he is definitely one of the best rushing QBs of all time. I think we just both have a different definition of what “everything” means in this situation.

I mean fr, we had Steve Smith (who will be a first-ballot HOF inductee), the dynamic duo of J Stew and D Williams, Greg fucking Olsen, oh and also some linebacker named Lucas Keekly or something like that, who many people say was the best of all time at his position. I am certainly not denying Cam’s contribution to the “putting this team on the map” idea, but to act like he was Jesus Christ himself in shoulderpads is just preposterous. As with most things, it has been a team effort.

Cam thank you for everything. Thank you for coming back. We know you gave this your all. No one could succeed with the lack of help you were given. I went back and watched some of the throws you made last year, they were really good. Playoff level good. People want to say “he aint been the same since 2016”.. Thats BS. In 2018 before getting your shoulder hurt you were in the NFL MVP race. With a healthy CMC and Good Oline we dont need MVP CAM to be championship level.
