Tampa may have set the world record for bonehead plays in one game. All the talent in the world is not worth much if you repeatedly shoot yourself in the foot. Coach needs to tear these nitwits a new one before the next game. I get that there will be a time for everybody to get acclimated, but there were unbelievable mental errors beyond that issue as well. BA is right, that’s on him.
@Mexican Zeppelin – I’m concerned with errors like going offsides on 4th or getting a FG blocked of botching a kickoff. The timing or route running issues are understandable this early with new guys and reduced prep.
@Mexican Zeppelin Absolutely. The problems on offense i believe will get fixed fairly easily. They were mistakes that everyone knows shouldn’t have happened. No big deal there. The defense looked pretty good but, in my opinion, inconsistent. The biggest “problem” i saw was ST. A blocked kick is unacceptable but, who do you blame? The kicker? The o-line? IDK. The past few years our place kicking has been, lets just say ‘less than stellar’.
@Mexican Zeppelin I think that the money spent on Fornette could have gone to a really good place kicker. When you think about it, kickers are usually the highest scoring position on any given team. So, to skimp on that is a big mistake.
@GT Nismo agreed, they need a top kicker talent far more than Founette. Unless you plan on winning by 20 points every week, you need a kicker for clutch moments. They don’t grow on trees though. This is now the team’s Achilles Heel, along with subpar punting which put the offense in a hole all day long.

Bucs beat the Bucs. The defense I think was mostly incredible. There’s a lot of work to do. Mostly on Brady and the O-line.
@Alan Sider Tom Brady is not Dan Fouts or Dan Marino, he came from a balanced team, that could run the ball when needed, if the Bucs had a running game, they win this game!
sbearsy21 I still disagree. When a turnover happens on your side of the 50, you’re getting no buffer for error. When the saints had drives starting on their own side, they were stopped in their tracks a good portion of the time. If that’s not good then you have unrealistic standards for a saints opponent
Yes the defense was really spectacular
This is a good way of describing the loss. It wasn’t so much that the saints were playing amazing, it’s that the bucs failed in almost every way to play their best ball. If TB can fully tap into their potential consistently they will be super bowl contenders.
Angry Genius saints are and always have been trash good luck losing in the NFC championship game that’s what you guys are best at being mediocre hahah!

Miller did a great job… Rojo did great… I was particularly impressed with Davis 🙂 What an outstanding job of covering Thomas. He did his job well and that was a key point of the game… Just need to tidy things up and get all the little game time mistakes a thing of the past. How about those 5 consecutive drives from the Saints that the D stuffed em’ !!! You put all these bright spots together and get a cohesive gel among the team and you will have something special !!!

@waylon lewin remember, brady was, i forget exactly but, a 12th round pick and back up to Bledsoe. If Bledsoe hadn’t gotten hurt, brady wouldn’t be where he is now.

i cannot fathom how terrible donovan smith is. the guy is literally one of the worst left tackles in the league. they kept callling run plays to his side and he could barely create any opening lanes for the backs. how is he a starter getting paid 13 milli?
Lol! People calm down. It’s the first game of the season with no pre-season. The teams with continuity from last season will perform better early in the season. An eleven point loss to the Saints, who have plenty of experience and continuity, is nothing to freak out about. I think the Bucs will be a playoff team this year.

Fire the special teams coach. This has been terrible for years. Why can every team in the NFL find a returner and get positive yards on point return but we can’t. Arians always talks about how important special teams is but yet ours always sucks. Smh

tampabay bucs avoid the shutout and even tampabay bucs played a fair game and even tom brady and their special teams could’ve scored more touchdown if it wasn’t for drew breeze and their special teams who could easily take out tom brady in a sack and even force them to punt the ball to the saints and even make their touchdown and field goal and even tom brady doesn’t know his own playbook by the coach when half time begins and even he does try to succeed and make it better for the tampabay bucs fans now and even he needs to get tougher next time.

I think the Bucs did really good considering they had no pre season, no mini camps, they are bringing in new players esp. Tom Brady. People have to realize, the Saints are an established team and this was a really tough game for having it as your very first game of a season. The Bucs have things to improve on but they showed a lot of good things on both sides of the ball. I expect the next game to be a lot better against the Panthers……

@Kindle Watson the bucs gm is dumb for not fixing that o-line and upgrading at left tackle. they need a consistent o-line who can pass protect brady because he’s not mobile like all these other qb’s. how bad is donovan smith? the bucs oc kept calling run plays to the left side where smith plays at and he barely created any opening lanes for the backs

@ninjahman no i purposely didnt mention gronk because hes irrelevant. Oj Howard and cam brate are better players and younger. Gronk only came back thinking it would be easy. Its not the afc anymore gronk and Brady. Also belichick is the reason the patriots have a dynasty not Brady. Belichick won with and without him.
carter1431 the Bruce Arians system is so hard to learn they like to throw down field compared to what Brady has done in the past he looked for short play and he has to continue to get used to throwing it deep but as well as boy forcing it it’s a hard system to learn no excuse here we got outplayed that’s it you can’t judge a team off of one game cuz we can judge your team the same way and see how they played point out the bad and laugh at them for how they played it’s just not logical to do that but maybe if they continue to play at this level for 4 weeks or so to teams who are not as good as them then yes you can claim that they are not that good but after one game you can’t really do that
@No Help ive been a bucs fan since creamsicle uniforms. This staff is horrible. They think by bringing brady it equals superbowl. It doesn’t. They need to overhaul the entire oline. That oline is what cost winston. Also dont give Brady the so called goat any excuses that yall wouldn’t give winston. This offense will under perform this year because Brady not fit for it
carter1431 excuses? it’s one week in to the season Winston would get the same “ excuses ” that Brady is getting a start of a season with no preseason and very few time to train for the team except Jameis threw interceptions consistently almost every game he threw a pick and at times he would throw 5 the coaching staff is great and bringing in Brady didn’t change the coaching staffs winning mindset Bruce Arians like to throw the ball down the field that why they were the number 1 team in the league passing wise because of the Bruce Arians passing style I’ve watched Winston since he got drafted and he’s always had the turnover problem from his first throw as a Buccaneer to his last and despite that he continued to get excused for what he did and yeah maybe to you the offense will under perform but there is so many mouths to feed on this team so many impact players that it’s hard to get all the stats but you go in to win and Jameis just didn’t bring enough wins for the team and that why he was let go Brady was brought to the team to lower the turnovers hoping that it would get us to the playoffs . The team had one bad game and now all the pressure is put on Brady when there were other mistakes that put us in that loss

I couldn’t believe #32 did that & I couldn’t believe Vita Vea did that. Both those plays turned into points for the Saints.
They went strong in the first quarter then started to burn out.
The biggest issue with me for this game besides the pathetic penalties and bonehead moves the defense pulled and bradys pick six throw was the play calling.. How the he do you have those two tight ends especially Gronk block most of the game.. You got a weak O line and you are having everyone go deep down the field.. How don’t you have Scotty Miller and Gronk going over the middle and at one point kept running the ball when they couldn’t get 3 yards a carry.. that play calling was bizzare to me very poor
@Allan Hernandez yeah he was it was a bad game all around.. They will figure it out and I’m a pats fan I just want brady to do well. Hate to see him lose and especially like that.. The play calling for me though was just insane.. You got Gronk for a reason use him over the middle with Miller.. Not that hard to figure out lol

I agree 💯!! I’ve been a Patriots fan all my life. I believe the play calling was terrible. You have to utilize gronkowski and Brady. Not to mention the other two tight ends brate and Howard I don’t see how you could stop those three tight ends
@Brandon Kirby yes exactly man.. I get this is how the offense ran last year but you got a different QB who likes to get rid of the ball quick.. On top of that you have a bad o line.. They need more over the middle routes and then have Evans going deep to open up the middle

Bucs gotta be more disciplined, the Saints didn’t beat the Bucs, the Bucs beat the Bucs. The Saints didn’t play well either, but the difference is they didn’t make nearly as many mental mistakes as the Bucs.
