ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — In the sixth game of their season, the Denver Broncos finally will have the secondary they had hoped to open the season with a month and a half ago.

Cornerback Champ Bailey closed out a quality week of practice and will play in his first game of the season Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Bailey has not played since injuring his left foot in an Aug. 17 preseason loss in Seattle, and this week was the first time he had participated fully in practice.

“He’s all set,” coach John Fox said after Friday’s practice. ” … We’re excited to have Champ back. He’s had an outstanding week.”

Cornerback Chris Harris, who suffered a concussion in the 51-48 win Sunday over the Dallas Cowboys, also practiced fully Friday for the first time this week and is on track to play. The two, with Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, are the team’s top three cornerbacks.

The Broncos surrendered 506 yards and five touchdowns to Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo. The winless Jaguars, however, are 28th in the league in passing, with quarterbacks Blaine Gabbert (who is out this weekend) and Chad Henne having combined for just three touchdown passes this season.

The Broncos figure to be without middle linebacker Wesley Woodyard (neck) and defensive end Robert Ayers (shoulder). Both were held out of practice all week. The team formally listed the two as doubtful, but neither is expected to play.
