I believe Steve Smith Senior referred to Brian Burns this week as the face of the franchise. As a long time Panthers fan and Carolinian, I happily agree. I’d love to see this team almost unchanged next year. Steve Wilks, Al Holocomb and Ben McAdoo at their respective helms as coaches, add depth in key defensive positions with our draft picks, and continue the ground [keep] pound [ing]. This is a group that cares about each other. Ownership could show they care by allowing a little consistency for the players in the off season. Please, Tepper, don’t make DJ learn a new playbook this summer just because you like to make bad decisions. Show you care, then step back and let Wilks handle the football. When healthy, we’ve got the team.

I think that the O-line needs a couple of young, strong, and fast players who can be substitutions to make the O-line more SOLID. It was easy to see in the TB game that the O-line could not protect, defend, block, and make lanes for the QB, RBs, and TEs to get yardage and TDs as the game wore on (3rd & 4th quarters).

The defensive line could use the same number of guys to keep them fresh too. Having one or two guys play hard is not acceptable. Shaq, Chinn, and Brian are the hardest players. So we need a couple new guys to help them out. We need one or two Corners. Then, if we get the QB1, we just might have an opportunity to be real contenders.

I’d like to see a real good offensive mind coach and Coordinator bc McAdoo isn’t the best fit. A new defensive coach with a good record might be just what those guys need to take them to the next level. I think Wilks should stay in some capacity if he is not chosen as the Head Coach. But if it’s someone else, they need to be top-notch to help bring this team back to its glory days!!!
