    @Mound Builder I believe he will. I think PFF ranked him third best rookie O-Lineman last year, and that was at a position he never played.

    That was what PFF said about Mond, so I think Bikkick was playing it safe, plus he knows that Spielman does not wanting anything resembling a QB controversy. Realistically, Mond will need to sit behind Cousins for 2 years before Mond is ready for prime time. That works out great, because Cousins has 2 years left on his contract, meaning the Vikes have to years with this lineup to win the SB, or the Vikes may go into rebuilding mode.

One thing that separates winning teams from losing teams is special teams. The Vikes offence & defence suffered because last year’s special teams didn’t give the offence good field position, didn’t cover kicks/punts all that well, and missed too many chances to get FGs after a drive stalled. IMHO, Spielman picked up a lot of draftees & signed UDFAs who will improve the Vikings in the kicking & kick coverage part of the game. This, combined with an improved O-line, a much better defence, and a year’s experience for the young DBs bodes well for the Vikes. IMHO, barring the injury bug & the usual crappy refereeing, they will win the division this year & have a good chance of getting to the SB!

Ohh there’s definitely competition there buddy! Two things that Kellen Mond has that Kirk doesn’t is sense of pressure and being mobile. That in itself puts him a little ahead of Kirk.
