I definitely think perriman can do MORE than Robby, he has a more diverse route tree and also his body type is different so he can take more hits and run different routes. Robby was great but having a receiver that can do multiple things will help.

@Jonny Goodrich I feel you and that deal you suggested wouldn’t bother me at all actually. We also gotta remember that Robby may have also wanted to go join his old college who put him on the map at temple, Matt Rhule, who knows Robby better than Gase. Also, based off Joe’s last presser, he tries to find players that fits the system of his coaches and although Robby flashed, I didn’t get the sense that he fit Gase’s offense, which is bummer. Gase historically prefers slot-type receivers hence the high volume that Crowder saw. Asking Sam to build with BP is definitely gonna be tough, especially given the current circumstance but I think JD has a WR in the draft in mind that he would want to grow with Sam. If BP works out, we can work out a slightly longer deal. It sucks to lose Robby but because of fit and value, I don’t think it’s gonna be as big a lost as it may feel. Lastly, Darnold has shown he can quickly build with almost any receiver. Remember his debut when it looked like he and Enunwa were constantly on the same page? Or even later that year when it looked like him and Herndon were gonna be an awesome duo? Darnold is talented enough to run the system, do what’s asked of him and get the ball where it needs to go so maybe I’m optimistic but I think he’ll be ok with BP and whoever we draft.

Trust me, this is a much better pick. It’s not about just talent, its not about just money. It’s about culture, and winning a super bowl. Simple as that. Joe Douglas has an amazing vision and is FINALLY bringing culture to this organization. Robby is INSANELY talented, but he is a twig. Perriman is faster, stronger, and bigger.

i wish we could have kept robby because i wanted to go ol in the 1st round of the draft but now that we got a few olineman from free agency and perriman from fa i feel like we should pick a wr 1st round and that should be jerry jeudy if he is there if not lamb

@T There is PLLENTY receiver talent in this draft. IT will not break the jets to take a lineman with that 11th spot and get a receiver with the second round pick. Wide receivers are only icing on cake. There is no point in getting a whole jar of amazing, vanilla cream chocolate icing if you don’t even have flower for your cake.
