Maybe Von going on the IR now is a blessing. It means he can heal up. He’ll be back just in time for the last couple games of the season, where he can get those game reps, shake off the rust, and head into the playoffs healthy and strong. Maybe, just maybe, it will work out for the best. It’s better than him getting hurt later on in the season, and already at age 33, chances are he’s going to miss some time during the course of his contract. He’ll also probably need to have snaps regulated more as the contract moves along. And, with Von out, it will give the Bills brass a chance to see a bit clearer what we have in players like Epenesa and Boogie, for example. I feel we already know what we have in Rousseau and Shaq. Rousseau seems to keep getting better, and will hold his own as a starter, and Shaq has been playing great as a role player this season. Boogie hasn’t had much field time and it’s difficult to clearly see Epenesa. He flashes at times, but tends to disappear. He does look faster this year, and to my understanding that’s part of him trimming down. It’s going to be fun to see how the last part of the season plays out.
