    I think Herbert played good because he had no pressure. He didn’t think about the game the whole week, he didn’t have pressure, the media didn’t mention him.
    If he’s the starter there would be so much more pressure on him and I think that’s what Lynn wants to avoid. Give him a year and he will shine under Tyrod and he’ll shine.

    He made a few very bad passes yesterday too and the INT where he could easily run for the first down was a huge mistake. His time will come.

    He’s being groomed to inherit it. Tyrod Taylor is a mediocre QB at best. He’s good enough to keep us out of last place but not good enough to get into the playoffs. Herbert has more potential to surpass Taylor.

    But I also believe that this one strong performance is promising but doesn’t 100% prove that he’s fully ready to inherit the starting spot just yet. The next 3 games are going to be incredibly difficult with the Panthers, Buccaneers and Saints on the horizon. I think Herbert can maybe beat the Panthers but the Saints and Bucaneers may not be winnable no matter who starts. Should Herbert start against the Saints and Buccaneers I just hope he can stay healthy both in body and spirit.
