@CC Noble it’s the chargers. When has Spanos ever spent on FAs? One of the cheapest and poorly run organizations that have wasted a ton of talent. They have several pro bowlers on defense and the defense was atrocious this year, 29th in the league under a DEFENSIVE HC. Staley is a joke. He’s a DC at best, not a HC.

Saw some improvements this year from last year. Herbert played incredible and even better than last year and that’s all you can ask for. Defense needs to be adjusted. Offensive line is solid in areas but still needs adjustments. As for the offense and it’s playcalling I’d say give it another camp to really settle in and start solidifying. WE ARE CONTENDERS.

Agreed. Offensive stats were much improved this year. Right side o line need improved. Would like to see more use of herbs cannon. D line, linebacker and corner need better depth. As long as we keep progressing I’d hope we would be playoff bound next season
Staley is a defensive minded coach. Last off season however was all about the offense. I expect they will be aggressive in signing players and drafting on the defensive side of the ball. Chargers have my way to early prediction to be a top contender next year

@Dan Sal next year is do or die for TT in my opinion. Coming off a winning season, stud at QB on a rookie contract. 11 draft picks and $80 million in spending money. If he can’t put together a roster to go on a run with that then he never will.

Been a charger fan since 2005 the good old days, my dad has been there for them since 1975 and I know the upsetting games and seasons I put up with every yr is painful but I still come back every yr to support this team. I’m from San Diego and I will forever ride with my team till the day I die⚡❤.

This one hurts, like big time and even more than the blowout at the patriots in 2018, but Herbert and this team shown that heart and passion for the game in the end, very proud of Herb, he is not a great QB, he is an elite and a superstar QB, this team will get far as long as Staley improves his 4th down calls, 6/7 is unbelievable, but that one in our own 20 was not a good call and I really think coach will be one of the best in the next few years, RUN IT BACK NEXT YEAR⚡️⚡️⚡️

I’ve been a charger fan all my life. That was the worst 4th down call of my lifetime. The draw play for 3rd and 23 was the worst since the Ravens game years ago. Geez this team gets in its own way. Murray has to go dude sucks and so does Harris Jr.

Going on 4th down from your own 18 at that point in the game was uncalled for. The 0 line did not play well, Herbert took way way too many hits. So many penalties that led to points for the Raiders. A very tough loss.
Maybe they should’ve went for it on 4th down in OT instead of kicking that FG.

I could not agree more! Going for it on 4th down on your own 18…, really!!!? Staley is like Alexander Hamilton – he always assumes he is the smartest in the room. Intelligent – yes. Smart – no. I would have made him find his own way home from LV. Poor Justin Herbert…, He plays for the Three Stooges; Staley, Lombardi, and Hill. Can you knuckleheads at least kick DC (Hill) to the curb and bring in Fangio as the DC? At least his defenses play with heart. While you’re at it, do the same to Lombardi. He was out coached this year more than Michael Jordan struck out in Minor League Baseball. You guys are wasting talent, just like the 2006 coaches did. Staley needs a dose of humility. Humble people don’t say they are humble – it’s a displayed quality. I hope you gain some humility in off season. Perhaps this will improve your critical thinking is crucial situations. Keep “time and place” in mind. BUT…, not every time and not everyplace as in 4th downs (RME’s). Stop being such a dufus.
Raiders fan here. They converted six 4th downs and came back from a hell of a deficit. How can anyone question the timeout decision after the rest of the decisions worked out? Unless the Raiders came out to kneel there’s no guarantee they were playing for the tie.
Everyone knew Raiders were playing for a tie EXCEPT Staley. Even Al & Chris called it from the booth. The TO allowed the Raiders to change their package to a BIG set. Look at previous play, Raiders had no sense of urgency, and were not going to risk kicking a 55+ FG.

You could tell the raiders were going to run the ball like they had the two previous plays just to kill time on the clock. They weren’t focused on a first down until the time out gave them time to think.
True everything people are saying they were saying with Hindsight. But his explanation, is still ridiculous. It sounded like he wanted to Stamp his name somewhere. “Im a smart defensive coach”. Overtime game, your players are tired. Most plays that you call isn’t going to get executed the way it should, and it played out that way.
The fourth downs they converted in the 4th quarter have nothing to do with coaching decisions. They had to go for them because they were out of it if they punted. That was Herbert delivering.
Great season Chargers! As a lifelong fan, this season was a great glimpse of what we can be in the coming years. To me, the Chargers doing so well this season with a new head coach, and a new system is a bonus. With an agressive off season and a good draft, next year is the real season to get excited about this team. The Chargers playing meaningful football at the end of the season is all you can ask for. See you all next year.
