That returner was really good. Obviously it’s an inexcusable performance but that guy was really shifty and he has real speed
@H H4 zion had a false start which can be worked on but outside of that hes been pass & run blocking very well, jt needs to put on 20 lbs & its not like hes our starting fs, he was also the only one trying on returns it seemed
@H H4 so you’re not impressed by zion because hes next to a subpar right tackle? what does that even mean, jt woods is physical hes just skinny right now, its not like he avoids tackling. nas was skinny when he was drafted as well & now i could see him playing strong safety
When 2nd & 3rd stringers play with 2nd & 3rd stringers, it’s gonna be rough, but when 1st stringers play with a few 2nd stringers, all the sudden these 2nd stringers “step up,” amazing how that works.
Players on the field make other players better.

@H H4 disagree. Saw plenty of worthwhile trench play that was physical and up to league standard.
@H H4 Pipkins looked fine. He also pulled a across the whole formation to lead block on Palmers screen. That’s 30+ yards of total coverage on a scoring play. Not gonna complain if that level of physicality needs a TE chip on an offense that runs an in-line TE 80% of the time
Both teams had backups 2nd team no excuses this was not our Starters 1st team but need special teams and backups to do better than this.

I love! I love that he’s not BSing. He’s pissed and he’s made it clear. That’s what is needed because he’s saying everything all fans are thinking. Preseason or not, the amount of work Telesco and him put into the offseason to build this caliber of a roster they have, and the caliber people you go up against everyday in practice, there’s no excuse. It is embarrassing how they played in the first half. Imagine if they let us down like that in the playoffs. I’m glad he’s mad, cuz us true long time charger fans know how hard it’s has been when it comes to special teams. We got Ficken out of a situation where they didn’t want to let him go because he was so good at what he did for the special teams unit and the players really let him down.
@H H4 it’s preseason there’s not much of a game plan.. it’s kinda just running basic plays to evaluate players
@H H4 I’m not worried about the team as a whole. It’s more that these guys are fighting for a job, and that’s what they put on tape as far as special teams. Our 1 strings are all fine

Cut chase. Cut stick. We need TRUE back ups who can play when needed. These two QBs cannot play at all. God forbid we need them to play. That goes for the other guys too. Chase needs to be behind a desk with the chargers or something. Give that roster spot up.
Josh Palmer and Chris Rumph separated themselves from the rest of those guys.
Poor play by oline. Doesn’t matter who’s at RT Trey pipkins storm Norton they’re going to get Herbert killed. Oline couldn’t even run block.
They should’ve let spiller play with the starters come week one. No need in risking him behind these dudes.

I agree with the majority of the comments except that yall shouldn’t count out the draft class yet. May I remind you, Jamarr Chase was considered a bust coming out of preseason. Then proceeded to be a top 5 WR last year. Food for thought.
