@Great Dane we have a totally new defense. Almost entirely new starters. We don’t know if they will be missing tackles near as much, we haven’t seen them yet.
We didn’t see Derwin, Jackson, Mack, Bosa, Van Noy etc… Those guys won’t miss tackles. Rumph, and Reeder looked pretty good at making stops I thought.

Most defensive backs never look back to see where the ball is. Seems so simple to quickly look back as to not get called for pass interference.

The coverage looked so much better than the last couple years as well. If our special teams comes together, and matches the other 2 phases, it will be a real issue for the league.
@GarlicButter we have a real special teams coordinator. Not no Anthony Lynn mentor playing that role or a first time coach being in that role. Hang time help with coverage and wasn’t holding my breath thinking it was gonna get blocked

Keep your head up Staley, get on them corners and DBs. They will cost us the season if you dont teach them kids to turn their heads around.
We were watching like the young 3rd string corners in their first NFL action. Asante and Davis looked fine early on, and we didn’t even see Jackson. As those younger guys keep developing behind good starters, I think we should be ok.

Kelley is stepping up, Spiller looks good, Zion and Salyer looked good, Bandy reminds me of a Woodhead/Amendola/Edelman type, and the punter has some crazy hang time!! The gunner was in the returner’s face every time. Would like to see more Horvath. Lastly, they need to figure out who is the real QB2 and put the other one in the practice squad instead of rostering all 3 QBs like last year instead of adding extra depth in a needed position.
It’s so nice to have a punter who can kick. Long had such a slow release, it’s partly why we had so many blocked punts. Scott gets it off quick and nukes it.
I agree with only rostering one QB2. I get the value in having a vet behind Herbert with Chase. But I think I trust Stick a lot more in the event that Herbert actually goes down.

Bandy looks like Renfrow for the Raiders quick feet solid route running breaks ankles at the top of the route like he did on that touchdown. Very good we should keep him for sure.
Offense looks solid. You can tell we are still evaluating our defense.
All i know I’m so pumped the season here gonna be a great yr. I never write comments let alone on a preseason game. Just shows that depth is just as exciting
I’m a Rams fan here, I’m a chargers fan too just wanted to say you played well chargers this is a pre season with players that were drafted. but once the regular season starts you’ll be ready alongside with the main players. You’ll do just fine this season 👍
