@Jas1 Schro – Right? If Staley had kicked that FG at halftime, the Chargers would be right back in the race for the top spot. Beating the Chiefs would have been HUGE. I think the team needs a few more pieces – a TE, some guys on D, and maybe a right tackle – and this team has what it takes…as long as Staley doesn’t get stupid.

1 can argue that we need more defensive leaders…if Derwin is out, no other player leads the team & keeps them accountable like he does…on top of that, last week we were missing out on virtually every 1 of our effective run-stoppers (Joey, JJ, Tranquil, Derwin). The D, when our key guys are there, actually play the run rather well (see Sunday vs Denver, Cinci, etc.), but we’re very thin. If we’re healthy, we can beat anyone…ANYONE.
Now y’all know Herbert wasn’t giving no speech lol!

Always funny seeing how reserved Herbert is. He doesn’t want the limelight, rather put the focus on his team and slide into the background. Never thought I’d have the same zeal for football after Rivers left but Herbert has ignited that Chargers fandom again… hopefully for a long long time.
I was at the game and the best example of this is when Louie g announced that he broke the record and the big screen was on Herbert and his first reaction was to put on his helmet and try to juke out the camera
It will be for a long time. There is no player I’d rather start an NFL franchise with.
Herbie it’s the total package, size, mobility, pocket pressence, strong arm, can improvise, he is what “analyst” tought Trevor would be in NFL

What I love about Coach Staley is that he doesn’t swear and act totally wild during his locker room speech. He motivates his guys and he brings his guys up.. He truly is a great leader ⚡

I love Herbert’s humbleness. I saw the clip of him trying to get off the big screen camera. That’s funny, but it says a lot about him. He doesn’t seem to even want the shine.

To everyone who has turn their back on Coach Staley , just know that this is his first year as head coach with a very young QB in his 2nd year..Give the man a chance. It may not appear to be alot but 9-7 is a huge improvement from 7-9 with one more game to go…I dont know many coaches that can win 9 to 10 games in his 1st head coaching job with a team that were so awful the previous year..

im so glad i now have an afc team to follow because of my boy herbert. i loved watching him in college as a diehard ducks fan and to see him excel this much in the nfl is almost unprecedented. yall chargers literally stole the draft with him and considering what he did his rookie season with that absolutely abysmal o-line from last year is just simply amazing. from a 49ers/ducks fan go bolts
