No way, Staley came in last year as some kind of defensive guru, certainly not the case. Our defense with a healthy Joey Bosa and Derwin James fell to one of the worse NFL defenses in 2021. Staley’s run defense was the 3rd worse in the league and the main reason why the Chargers didn’t make the playoffs. Staley better improve his own defensive coaching before I put him in the caliber of Gus Bradley, let alone Bill Belichick

@LEFTaTIP please remember that this was their first year under Staley and his style of defense… They started slowly improving at the end of last year and can only be better this upcoming year. Give him a little bit of time things will work out I promise

Love the direction LAC is going, after years they finally started investing in OL/DL the best teams dominate the LOS. He knows the type of guys he’s looking for and went and got them. LAC got better today.

@sixth season I have been saying that O Line 1st round is a must. Thats not what I’m saying here, they could have used a 4th even to get a sub 4.4 40. Having speed and a massive arm really puts fear in db’s because they have to think if they get beat deep its going to make them look bad

Justin Herbert, Derwin James, Joey Bosa and Brandon Staley are going to be the greatest things that happen to this franchise. Full stop. But not to forget, Rivers, Gates, LT, Seau, Fouts (and all of air Coryell) are right there. But these guys right now will get this team a bowl I guarantee it.

Spiller was a huge pick. The need for a RB2 to take some load off of Ekler and power back to control the clock was a FAR bigger need than a fast WR as some keep bitching about. Herbert threw for over 5000 yards last season fir Christ sake…our WR room is just fine. Staleys vision on playmaking DB’s in a Robber scheme is solid. Far more importnat than WR we need another Impact Edge player.
This Defense is going to be in top ten this year. Our offense is already top ten.

Yeah exactly, also the speedy receiver that people want was already addressed with our new kick returner Carter who will be utilized in our offense as well. The fake fans always want a receiver and don’t know our real needs. ⚡️
@Joel T you got it mixed up, the real fans want to see a speedster paired with our QB’s rare arm talent. We aren’t playing with old man rivers anymore who can only throw 40 yards. Why do you think Mahomes Allen have speedsters? Because they can push the defense way off and make them worry about getting beat deep. If theres no imposing threat they will stay close and be more aggressive to our receivers crossing.
@Joe K Chargers have Guyton and Carter, they’ll be fine. Bigger issue last year was the right side of the o-line not giving Herbert enough time to throw deep. Looks like that will be much improved this year so the playbook should be wide open this year
This team has a great communicator in Staley. The vision is clear,the focus is constant and hasn’t changed.I see good results going to come from the work the Chargers Organization is putting into the making of the 2022 team.
