Such a good player for us. Unfortunately because Gettleman left us practically no money for after he gets fired, there’s a possibility Martinez ends up being a cap casualty which sucks. I hope it doesn’t happen, but we’re gonna have to make some tough moves within the next few months if we’re gonna fix things

@screwdriverman5 Overrated? I don’t anyone believes he’s this all pro talent, but he definitely a solid player. Have you not seen teams running for over 100 yards every game with ease since he’s been gone? Partially that is due to the loss of dalvin, but if you watch the linebackers we have now, they contribute nothing in the run game. If the d line doesn’t make the play the run goes for 10 plus. Plus, he’s one of the leaders, which adds another element to the defense. Let’s also not forget how he’s pretty decent in coverage too. You just sound pessimistic because the Giants are losing. Give it time.

@Peter estrada I never said he was overrated. I said he’s not that good. I said tackles are an overrated stat, which they are. Teams are running on the giants whether he’s there or not.

@screwdriverman5 Giants, this year, are allowing about a half yard more per run, and are only about 300 yards behind total yards from last year. Not that big in terms of amount of yards, but teams are much more efficient on the ground. But you also have to consider our edge defenders this year are much better at setting the edge. Very rarely, last year you saw runs between the tackles going for big yards, unless they were running to tae crowder’s side. The amount of big plays from simple runs up the middle is appalling. And my bad w the overrated, but it’s quite evident how much worse the LB’s are without blake in the lineup. However, I’m not opposed to moving on, coming off an acl, its inevitable for his play to deteriorate, and it’ll be better to find our future mike with this draft class having a few quality LB’s

@screwdriverman5 And yes, tackles are very overrated, especially when people like logan ryan are collecting a bulk of theirs 10 plus yards down the field.
