Bills Defensive Line Exceeding Expectations | Bills by the Numbers Ep. 39 | Buffalo Bills

On this week's episode of Bills by the Numbers podcast presented by FanDuel, Chris and Steve look at how the Week 2 matchup with the Titans might be different this time around. The two get into the Bills defensive line exceeding expectations in the season opener vs. the Rams and what the stats from that game tell us about that group going forward. Steve is quizzed in the Numbers Game on the recent Bills-Titans matchups. ESPN's analytics writer Seth Walder dives into the numbers to give the Bills pass rush win rate so far. Finally, the two give their highest and lowest picks from four different categories in FanDuel's Hi-Lo Game.

Go Bills!!!

GreenBeans

Appreciate you guys!!! Bills 38-24 over the Titans. Go Bills!

    Paul Sweet

I don’t see them giving up 24 points

    mitch lesinski

I see a 21 point difference and titans scoring 1 or 2 times tops

    Vincent Vaughan

@Paul Sweet I agree more like bills 50 titans 17 just like that wild card game last year when the bills dominated the patriots.

    GreenBeans

@mitch lesinski You may be right Mitch. As the week goes on my thinking is trending that direction. I have hang ups with these Titans. They’re gritty, and they play good teams better. Not to mention they’ve had the Bills number last few years. I know, I know… Allen slipped in that last game or Bills would have been the one seed. We shall see. Go Bills!

    GreenBeans

    @Paul Sweet I’m trending that way. 👍

Susan Summers

Bills need to win these games against teams like titans they had bad time last year with winning games that are hard and losing games they should win.

I feel like after tearing up the league to finish 2020, the Bills entered last season buying into their own hype. So good that all they had to to was show up. They got smacked in the mouth a lot and got into a 9 week alternating win/loss stretch that included the Jaguars. It wasn’t until the final weeks of the season that they developed a killer instinct to decisively put teams away. After we were eliminated, my one hope was that they would carry their late season killer instinct into this year. That get it done whatever it takes thing that we saw from Allen. So far so good week 1.

I love Von’s “don’t blink” mantra. Last year we lived on our hype and blinked way too much.

    Michael Panuccio

We need to win against all the AFC opponents I don’t care if they lay few Ducks against NFC teams but we need those AFC wins to take the number one seed

Jose R

If our D line stops the run like last week, Bills should get the Win, cause Titans are a Run Play Action team, like you guys said Ryan T is not gonna drop back 40+ times.

    Vincent Vaughan

oh yeah this defense is going to be very tough and very difficult for the king.

Easiest way to stop Derek Henry? Run up that score Buffalo!

    Vincent Vaughan

with a beefed up DEFENSIVE LINE AND ADDITION OF VON MILLER WILL MAKE IT DIFFICULT FOR HENRY!!!

Ric Blic

this game won’t be close, Josh Allen blames himself for last years loss, that baby faced assassin, is going to tear this team up, when you up by 21 Henry is not an issue, the O line for the Titans didn’t look that good last week, now they face this pass rush, give Oliver the night off to heal

Aaron Unkle

can’t wait to see tim settle and Jordan Phillips blow Henry up in the backfield also groot and von will be the brick walls on the edge with shaq and aj sprinkled in. Also have a feeling we will see a lot of Christian Benford at cb 2 this game

J Osgood

Do whatever it takes to score, stop them, and score again to start this game. I don’t think Tannehill can carry his team with the personnel he has again our defense. We don’t need a Derrick Henry slug fest. Make them play OUR game.

in my humble Non-expert opinion, I think Vegas got this one right. 10.5 points. Home opener. Josh wants revenge. Bills mafia in full effect. I think the bills get up early and force titans to be one dimensional. Edmunds has 12+ tackles. Josh passed 275 2 TDS and 2 rushing TDS. Final score 38-17.
