* Battling feelings of mental inadequacy
* Using the media to smear and get rid of people that don’t praise him
* Willful defiance of conventional wisdom
If we won the division because all of the other teams were plagued with COVID he would seek personal validation.
Often this demand for attention is a result of childhood failures to gain acceptance from parents.
He doesn’t spent time working to produce results. He only wants to focus on finding excuses to blame failures on others. It is ths opposite of teamwork.
Anyone that remembers that he was hired to bring the Patriots offense to the team can see this. Watson was not coached for it his rookie year. He filled the team with Hoyer and Mallet so he could say they knew it and didn’t need coaching.
He adds no value to the team. He sees himself as a vice that will pressure others to produce results.
Most coaches would say that Watson isn’t a deepball pocket passer, but O’Brien doesn’t understand this. Watson is just that lucky four leaf clover he found in the draft. He thinks he can revamp the team with deep ball receivers and tell Watson ‘go do it’. Its like throwing the keys to an 18 wheeler to a nascar driver has saying ‘okay, now excel at this.’
Andy Reid spent a decade building and planning what he has in KC. O’Brien thinks it’s something his people can just replicate overnight.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a lazier coach. Don’t forgot how he willfully tanked a season because the GM got Osweiler one spring. O’Brien didn’t call or meet with him or share a playbook with him until the first day of training camp. O’Brien used that deal to gain power at the expense of the team. He was never going to coach a Brady-like offense to anyone! Now he’s mortgaging away our future draft picks just to try to stay afloat. He must go!
