I am utterly embarrassed by the defensive performance. That was the most disgusting, most ignorant, most boneheaded defensive play-calling I have seen from the vikings in a long, long time. What a fucking embarrassment. And it’s not just the coordinator, nobody on that defense wanted to win.
Thought we were coming home with the win. Could have done a Hail Mary to Jefferson. We needed timeouts in the end too. 😢😔
Where I was seated everyone looked at each at the same time and started exiting. We were all prepared for a possible loss but not that abruptly. Keep heads up. New coach went 13-5 with pretty much what he inherited.

What an embarrassment of a defense, why can this team never rise to the occasion when it matters most?
I love this team, but the defense has been a liability ALL YEAR. They didn’t adjust or change anything. Donatell said we were gonna see a whole new defense for the playoffs, lmao. The offense was pretty damn good all year. The defense needs to change from top to bottom. They were so predictable all year. Leave the whole middle of the field open. They send all rushers, but have no spy for the qb run. I saw it right away today. I knew we weren’t going to win because our defense is embarrassing. There will definitely be a whole new defensive coordinator and other defensive coaches. We should not of had some of the players on our defense at this time of the year. They are backups.

Yes everyone sees this and my football IQ is nowhere near the Coaches and players but even I knew there has to be a change with the defense. Minnesota’s defense has made just about every offense and opposing QBs look so good this year….even back up QBs.
At the half I was like-WTF??? They let Daniel Jones run the same QB running play for the first half!!! He just faked and ran it for 8-9yrds. And Pat P couldn’t guard ANYONE because he was 8yrd deep in Donatell’s stupid shell defense. I hope Duke Shelley is back. It may have looked like he got burned on a play but he broke up passes and that “burn” was on Sullivan. Sully went back like he was going to cover then came down and Shelley was like-Oh Sh…..and it was like an 8yrd pass for a 1st. Just bad defensive calls. If Donatell is back, WTF??? I could call better plays. Kirk wasn’t under press, he has had worse pressure and on that last play, he had Cook and if all else fails, chunk it to JJ or Thielen. Hock is a beast but 3yrd pass when you need 8????? REALLY??? I honestly thought Hock was going to throw it or lateral or something for such a stupid play. Guy had 2 guys spying him!!!! Cook was open, and just GRRRRR!!!!……Oh well, Vikings let me down again. I still hope to see a Super Bowl in my lifetime. Im 43, ha..
Very tough lost. I feel so bad for the Veterans, worked their asses off for years and now their future is unknown.

Step Two Critically evaluate everyone over the age of 30…too many of them just can’t get it done consistently and cost too much
Step Three Make hard cap decisions to free up money to bring in YOUNG talent
Step Four Evaluate your players and run the defensive scheme that gives them the best change to succeed
Step Five Find a DC that can achieve step four

Step 4 is the most important scheme is arguably more important than skill you need everyone in the right position to be able to make impact plays

Tell the truth. The defense was awful. Donatell is gone. Kirk is not going to be perfect every single game. Thank you Ben. We ALL want to see a Vikings Super Bowl win before we die.
Ed D needs to get his pink slip first thing in the morning tomorrow. That was a pathetic defensive game plan for a big game like this. 😡 On the bright side, O’Connell first year ended just like McVey first year, lost in the wild card round. But he made the Super Bowl the next year. Hopefully, that’ll happen next year for the Vikings.

FIRE Ed Donatell!!!! You’re NEVER going to win a Super bowl playing prevent defense! A blind man could see this coming! Giving up over 400 yards a game and not once changing the scheme is unforgivable!!

Not as much of a heartbreaking end to a season since the team never looked like they could win it all. But still… Playoff Losses suck 🙁 Fun season though and thats what matters most for me about watching this team, I wanna have fun and I had that 🙂
I love this team. I sincerely do. I want to personally thank the players all of them for their service and their awesome experiences this year.. it was a great year.. now stack the Defense and hire a young violent coach to get the ship 🚢 righted.. we need a top 10 defense
