Could very well see a high draft pick QB but Goff is the guy this year and next year and I wouldnβt be surprised the year after If things go well.
If you havenβt read the article from ESPN the lions signed off on Adam Dedeaux and Jared Goff working on new throwing techniquesβ¦ Goff could look a lot better and more crisp then he ever has before.

@William Smalley same. I think this year will be really good. Last year was his entire world flipped upside down. Born and raised in Cali his whole life, hears heβs traded via radio to the land of gray clouds and a team thatβs basically trying to recover from a toxic wasteland

Tell you one thing, Ben Johnson has the best chance at making a name for himself…..any offense coordinator would just love to be in his spot… look at the talent at WR, RB, TE and having Goff….plus a great offense line!!!! He don’t produce now at OC , good luck getting another job!!!

@oldwolf we won’t have to worry about that for a while , I’m sure if he works out, I see detroit locking him in on a contract. Plus when your in a great spot with the cast around you…makes your job safe and Secure. When you go to another team , gotta prove yourself all over with probably less talent….so we’re good! Let’s hope he works out.

Great Offensive Lines make everybody better… in the first two preseason games we got a glimpse of just how solid they are. They’ll make each phase of our game and players, ‘better.’ Not only that, they’ll keep opposing O off the field, because of long sustained drives.
7 man protection is not the sign of a great offensive line.
They need two more topshelf guys to even be in that conversation

@Braden Damiani what’s your definition of good? According to Pro Football Focus the Lions o-line has been near the top 10 every year since 2019 and top 5 when healthy.
MUST stay healthy. Period. We start throwing around our offensive line with switched positions and backups, we’re gonna be in for a long year. Goff NEEDS the line all year and he needs JAMO asap.

And while I dont mean to say that hes the top of the top, cause hes not, hes a bit better than a guy who just made it there.

32.9 or something points per game. More than the greatest show on turf by like, a single point on the season.
Not ‘any old qb’ can do that.
While I dont think that goff can make bad players better, I do think that he can make use of the strengths of the already great players around him. You can win by insulating him.

Was he the star? No. Never said he was.

… Really… Aint the sayn, ‘Defence wins championships’. A great offence will sell tickets and get you into the playoffs (sorry chargers), but the defence is what gets you the ring.
Buddy this is the detroit lions. Can we focus on getting into the post season before we focus on which QB is going to win us a Superbowl? Maybe its me having been so beaten down as a lions fan but I’d be pretty happy if goff gets us to 11 wins and a playoff win next year, is that too low of a bar for you?
Besides, goffs biggest weakness is that he doesn’t seem to know how to handle pressure. You look at how many times he was pressured in 2018 regular season, and it wasnt much. Defenders had to keep dropping extra guys into coverage (and over commiting to run defence) because of mcvays playcalling / use of motion before the snap. Goff had enough time to process the field. However Vs the pats and their head coach, Billy b, … Well.. It didnt take him long to just start blitzing Goff in the Superbowl.
It’s no wonder goff fell apart, he was exposed. He cant handle pressure.
But heres the optimism. Heres the kicker.

Goffs gonna do great behind that line. Just wait.

6. Guess who had the #1 defense in the nfl in 2020? Jared Goff’s Rams. He went 9-6 and barely made the playoffs as the wild card. Guess who won the super bowl in 2021 with the #15 defense? Matthew Stafford’s Rams πππ. Remember when you said defense wins championships? Except when Goff is your qb! Then having the #1 defense isn’t good enough to even get out of the divisional round.
– Stafford threw 50 tds in 21 games last year alone playoffs included…. Goff threw 44 tds his last 2 years in L.A combined playoffs included (33 games)
– Stafford threw 9 tds and had 11 total tds in 4 playoff games last year alone to go along with a 108.3 playoff Passer Rating…. Goff has 4 total playoff tds in his entire 6 game playoff career to go along with a 79.9 playoff Passer Rating.
– Goff went 19-14 playoffs included his last 2 years in L.A…. Stafford went 16-5 playoffs included last year alone.
Now THAT’S ^^^^^ a qb who wasn’t carried by his team. See the difference? I’ll assume no.
Can’t waited for Goff to play. He has a total offense built around him and players willing to knock down walls. We should win the division at least.
