You’re really preaching to the choir on Hutchinson. I want to believe he will follow in the line of superb Big 10 DEs who made a leap nearly immediately. But, my fear is the rest of the D is broken in places & due to that, he will leave us all with more questions than answers. I would hate to be left wondering when he will show up. We are so starved for a real defensive star.
I’m pretty comfortable with JaMo myself seeing the pedigree of Bama WRs has been above average. Joseph should make a nice contribution too, I agree. You gotta figure if Patricia/Quinn can hit on Walker, there’s no reason for Joseph to not be given a chance.
Ultimately, I am ok with Holmes. I just hope if things aren’t a success, he doesn’t double down and instead gets drastic. I would rather him make so lunatic trades if the team goes 5-12 than have him keep it slow and steady.
Some people love that, but my meter is playoff contention year 3–division title contention year 4.
If we don’t see that, I’m probably going to be Adam B level angry. But let’s cross that when we come to it!
@TLD Official I totally agree. I think with the right moves, and hopefully a more active free agency next offseason, we could be in the running for a wildcard at the very least. I am a huge Dan Campbell believer and I think the rest of the lions staff is great for the most part too. Dan Campbell has brought an energy and a fire that the Lions have lacked for a very long time, and he’s a smart guy. He’s done a great job at keeping his players motivated. Like when the lions were winless for so long, they kept fighting. There was so many games we lost just by a single possession or even single play, and we will see huge improvements once they can polish that up. Most of this lies on the defense at this point, since the offense looks to be set up pretty well by now. And I also don’t think I’d wanna see you that mad 😂

@TLD Official Gotta think with an improved pass rush the secondary will benefit as a result. As for Holmes I don’t for see same ole Lions. This is the best front office I’ve witnessed in my 48 years as a fan.

Kirby Joseph still the most underrated pick. He knew himself and he was also the only one to admit his weaknesses. Same as in college, guy has a nose for the ball and just makes plays when he gets the chance. It took way too long for his college team to play him. I’m not saying rush him, but if he keeps being a ballhawk into camp, let him play. He’s a natural deep safety who gets turnovers.
