Nickelodeon isn’t the first children’s network to do this. When I was a kid, Cartoon Network had an annual Super Bowl special called “The Big Game” that they’d make a ton of commercials for and then when they event actually happened, Pat Summerall (RIP) and John Madden would give their halftime analysis from “Cartoon Network Studios” as well as their in-game, play-by-play football themed commentary to shorts from whichever show the two opponents were from, and they’d keep a live tally of the “score”. There was Tom vs. Jerry, Sylvester vs. Tweety, Bugs vs. Daffy, Roadrunner vs. Coyote, and maybe one or two others that I’m forgetting.

They knew no one would watch the bears play so they had to get a spongebob sponsor.

It’s a way to attract a younger audience to football.
It’s so smart, attract a younger audience which doesn’t seem to know what the outdoors are. This could interest a large group of kids in to football
Tbh it’s genius. Kids who normally wouldn’t care about football are staying inside cause of the pandemic and they might sit and watch the game with their parents. If they watch this broadcast they might get sucked in, pick a team to be a fan of and start to really like football
Well, CBS airs NFL games, and CBS merged with Nickelodeon’s parent company Viacom.
The NFL doesn’t need this.
If the MLB or NHL would’ve done something like that I’d have 100 percent understood, but that is not necessary.
This League doesn’t have a Youth viewership problem.
