@Mike Jones I really don’t think John Fox was as bad as people make him out to be. We were going through a culture shift with a ton of our older players being sent elsewhere or cut. There was no way realistically that we would’ve won anything Trubisky’s rookie season. Kendall Wright and Dontrelle Inman were our best WRs, not to mention Zach Miller’s knee got torn to shreds. Not to mention, Fox didn’t get any heads-up by Pace that we were drafting Trubisky. Fox liked Watson or a safety (Jamal Adams). I could bet John Fox would’ve been able to replicate most of Nagy’s success in 2018 if he would’ve been there. With regards to running back, I agree Tampa needed TB to win. Same thing with Tennessee. They probably need a better QB than Tannehill. But that still doesn’t mean that you have to be a pass happy team to win. Each decade there are trends. Running the football was a trend in the past, dropback passing in a pro style offense was a trend. Recently the spread offense and RPOs were a trend. Dual Threat QBs are starting to be come the trend. Trends are great until somebody finds a way to break it. Like I said before, while agree you gotta pass more to win, those throwback styles can be useful and win you a ton of games if you gameplan right.

@AllDay3004 they aren’t consistent and are much easier to defend. Take away the running game and then you lose. Get behind by a couple of scores and then you lose. Fox was there to wipe off the stench from Trestman, he wasn’t there to win and once you decided to draft a QB, he should have been immediate terminated. Our team at the time was old and those veteran players that then fans liked deliberately and purposely sabotaged the entire coaching staff. The west coast offense which uses RPOs and moving QBs has had a lot of success since the 80’s. Walsh won 4 SBs with it, his replacement won 1, Holmgren ran it with lots of success, same with both Shanahans, Reid runs it, McCarthey ran it. Outside of Parcells/Belicheck that’s the single most long term successful offensive system. There’s a reason it’s still in existence. Tennessee won’t win anything with Henry, SF just acquired Lance to fix the QB position so they can fully implement it. Arians is a QB guru. Do you really want to run an offensive system that really hasn’t had any consistent success for 50 years? Fox couldn’t replicate anything with the single dumbest OC in the game. That’s why Pace brought in Glennon so Loggains and Fox couldn’t talk to the QB it design plays. Pace never wanted Fox as the head coach that was a Phillips hire. He wanted Quinn. Imagine what could have happened if we actually had Kyle Shannahan train Mitch instead of Loggains. Fox was there to fix culture, he never was meant to be the coach to fix the team.
