Even though I’m a Cowboys fan from Australia. I’m delighted that Jordan Mailata found his path from Rugby League πŸ‰ to the NFL 🏈, even if it’s with the Eagles.

    grim Pulse

    @Adam Matsen unlike the Broncos

    grim Pulse

    I like*

    David Parkes

As a New Zealander Boys fan, I’m with OP. I just wish he was a Cowboy.

    Spartan7329

    @miaaaa… πŸ… How ’bout noooooooooooo

    General Buck Naked

I cant believe a couple of you that live outside the US.. You had the chance to choose ANY team as ur favorite, and you chose the Cowboys?? Smh.

Benjamin 008

At last NFL acknowledged Jordan Mailata skills.

    General Buck Naked

@rejected.. Hes easily one of the best in the league.. I dont know what football games you watch. Ontop of that hes still learning. He played rugby since he was young, not football

    Iverson Taase

    @rejected cry

    Cerberus 265

At last?…..the nfl recognized his skill the moment they reached out to him.

    SGS11996

@rejected literally nobody said he was but he’s easily top 5 right now

    rejected

@Cerberus 265 the eagles reached out to him one of the worst teams in the league right now

Bubi Frez

How could you not cheer for this guy! I hope he stays with the eagles for his (hopefully long an healthy) entire career!

    Stephen Viele

If the Eagles do one thing right, we don’t let good Oline or Dline players go.

    Oc Royal

@Stephen Viele eagles also have the best linemen coach in the league

    You Can do it

He has a contract for 4 years and no way he leaves the eagles

    Dirkk Diggler

Wasn’t he Mr. Irrelevant?? I’m happy for this man he’s a great offensive lineman, and to see his competitive drive in that scuffle this year shows his commitment

    lyric_cyril

@Dirkk Diggler if he wasnt he was damn close

Matt Smith

THANK YOU FOR MAKING SURE HE GETS HiS LOVE. NOTHING BUT POSITIVE PROGRESSION SINCE WE DRAFTED HIM. Them rugby skills was the main reason i knew he would be great

    rejected

@HorseK Fobster yes lol cause their from the pacific but there not majority Asian like most Polynesian people are

    freshmaker0088

@rejected you’re not a good representative for your people. SMH.

    Question

    no its his samoan genes.

    rejected

@HorseK Fobster bro melenisan people are black Polynesian people are mixed with melenisan and east Asian

Nicholas Rodriguez

Mailata is a legend in the making. Love this guy. FLY EAGLES FLY!!

    ProfeeX

I was thrilled when we drafted him

    Beast Rod

That is my left tackle πŸ₯²

    MTZ Ant

Yes sirrrrr he going to be great he had a solid full year more to come soon FLY EAGLES FLY

Substandard Reefer

Dude was steal in that draft, and I was so happy to see him develop so quickly into the player he is. I hope he’s an Eagle for many, many years.

British Eagle

So impressive what he has been able to accomplish! It took a few years to learn the game, but he has now developed into an amazing starting Left Tackle for the Philadelphia Eagles!!!

So happy he stays with us for many years to come!!!

    ProfeeX

Love wasting 1st round picks on back ups lol can’t wait to see what howies got in store for us this year

Sher Tanumihardja

Eagles better give Stoutland a blank check. He developed one of the best franchise O lines right now

    valiantbabe340

Now we just need a QB that will make use of the pockets this awesome O-Line creates! πŸ¦…

AlexH

As a Cowboys fan, I always root for Jordan Mailata! I played rugby most of my life, so seeing a rugby player outside of the USA, make it to the NFL, is incredibly inspiring.

    Geo me cards

I was studying in Australia and I went to a few minor league rugby games there, this guy is a beast. It took like 12 guys to stop him.

    Connor Short

@Jack Ringwood massive props ba dum tss

    izzy031096

@jake567100 Absolutely and they are vastly different games. Rugby league is also arguably just as technical, if not more so than Union. Also League players are generally far faster and fitter. They run twice as much, and tackle three times as much as Union players.

    Denny Shawyer

He played Rugby league, rugby is a no skill game in comparison. Look up Benji Marshall highlights

Big Raptorfan694

It’s criminal that this guy isn’t in the pro bowl, absolute monster

    Tam Chompson

@Jed Lin What do you disagree with? I’m confused

    Kamado Woah

@ehhhhh too tall for the nrl.

    Aiden Prezas

@Jed Lin Trent Williams was def better he had the highest PFF grade every and was a first team all-pro. He was better than Tyron though.

    Jed Lin

@Aiden Prezas Always take PFF with a grain of salt. All stats for that matter. But I like win rates a little better.

    Aiden Prezas

@Jed Lin lol then tell me how you measure an offensive linemen?

Kyle Mackenzie

He’ll be an All pro lineman trust me. This guy is an inspiration. Fly Eagles Fly πŸ¦…

    Joseph Oneil

No question. He is now imo.

henry3000

this is one of the greatest stories the nfl has had in years. thank you for shinning a light on jordan, hes a beast

Logan

Mailata is playing lights out! He’s paving a path that previously didn’t exist. Fantastic and inspiring story, for Polynesians, for Australians, for humanity! Hope to see more hidden gems through the Int’l Player Pathway Program! #flyeaglesfly

Shunsha

A 7th round pick who knew nothing about football, and already he’s performing like a top 8 LT. Absolute beast. Jeff Stoutland(the Eagles OL coach) needs a damn raise or something. Whatever he’s getting paid, he’s underpaid πŸ˜‚

    AJ Richardson

Not to mention he helped turn 6th round pick Jason Kelce into what he is today

    PartiallyBeast

For real. I’m sure they’ll pay this guy whatever he wants. Stoutland is invaluable to this organization

    Martin Deluhery

For real, Jeff Stoutland is so underrated. By far the best o-line coach. Better be an eagle forever

    Roland

Jeff Stoutland is a master at his job. Eagles need to offer him more $ if he contemplates retirement soon lol

Pomoi A

Jordan Mailata, George Kambosos and Alexander’s Volkanovski all came from a Rugby League background in Sydney. League produces the toughest athletes of any team sport imo

    r flet

@Zest no they didn’t. All come from a league background

    Zest

@Kennyfuckinpowers fair enough more money in league but their junior photos show union jerseys not league

    Si Rasputin

That’s the truth. Rugby League breeds the toughest, most all-round athletes in the world. Strength, speed, stamina, skill. Leaguies can cross over to many different sports

    Si Rasputin

@Henri Lamer Choc mundine, SBW, Robert Whittaker, Volkanovski…. all Rugby League

    izzy031096

@Zest Hahaha no they didn’t. All three mentioned played league, NOT union.

Austin Cass

Eagles Fan, legit love the guy. He is a person with pure talent that isnt seen much in people. From Rugby to Football is just insane.

    RawDog

You’re not wrong. Rugby League is closer to an endurance sport than anything else, so his transition to what is an explosive, power based sport is even more impressive.

Matt Baker

I remember being excited when he was a young prospect for Rabbitohs. The risk he took for the NFL was obviously well worth it

Bryan Elam

If I was a college coach I would have recruiters living on the Samoan islands! I don’t think I need to explain why but I will. #1, they have incredible genetics and it makes for incredibly strong, big, natural athletes! #2nd, they are unselfish, humble, respectful, intelligent and are full of heart and soul! All of those things make them perfect for team sports! Incredible human beings!!

    Saul Jahboi

Samoa, Tonga and Fiji. Recruiters for contact sports need to set up base in these 3 Oceania countries.

    Bryan Elam

@Saul Jahboi you got that right! Watching those men play rugby on TV is one of the scariest things I’ve ever seen in my life!!

Shooter Thooter684

This made me shed a tear bro. I’m a Samoan American myself and I totally felt what sister said about changing the course. Been following your career for awhile now brother. You’re a true warrior. Alofa atu uso.

Motivation Madness

Such a humbling story, may Jordan and the Mailata family stay blessed!
