I cant feel bad for a guy that has a guaranteed 19M coming to him for holding a clipboard but Sam Darnold has been from what I have seen a stand up guy during this whole process. He is going to be one hell of a backup QB! So for once I am actually glad to have him.

It’s just as possible that they didn’t want him there after he kept complaining about the game plan or his role in it. Or that they always wanted him there until Watson became available. We don’t know and can’t know.
