as a raider fan i would have loved to have him as qb 1 if carr wasn’t there
i’ve been a MM fan since his duck days, but I always worry he gets injured when he takes off. the frustrating part is that he has a really good arm and doesn’t even need to run to win games.
that said, i think some of his deep balls this game were a little underthrown but hopefully he can get that fixed up.

Even though the falcons gave away this game i’m not too worried i’m more focused on how the players are playing and mariota and ridder have been amazing honestly, mariota is going to be balling this year, people are sleeping on the falcons heavily but this team can win 8 games at least at full potential

It wasn’t Franks it was mostly the scrubs around him. Frank’s played no reps at QB in practice and it showed on the drive where he kept throwing to nobody in the end zone. They can fix that at practice. Otherwise the Falcon first and second string stomped the Jets into the ground.
Falcons were winning 16-3 at halftime so to me the Jets lost
As a Titans fan, I will watch Mariota closely this year. What I saw of him here looked very good (and very quick!) — as if the offense looked more appropriate, more open, to his skills. Interesting that Arthur Smith is his head coach, having worked with him in Tennessee when Smith was OC for one season before Mariota went to Vegas. Mariota was often very exciting to watch with the Titans, and at the end it was hard to know whether the issues were with him or the coaching’s inability to find him a scheme. Mariota is a wonderful athlete — and also a class human being. I would love to see him finally put it all together. Interesting also that former Titan TEs Firkser and Pruitt are also in Atlanta. Go Marcus!

Dude they ran the scripted plays against vanilla defense in preseason 😂 Mariota is gonna be same old garbage mariota mark it down on calender. Some of the teams have been using scripted plays this pre season this is probably trending.

That’s hilarious that Franks is so bad they lost the game letting him play. As soon as they let him play, that was it.

Franks only played to keep Ridder and Mariota healthy. I think Arthur Smith already knows what he has in his QB’s. If Franks makes the roster it’ll be at backup tight end.

I think the Falcons got themselves a steal with Ridder. Dude is highly underrated, I’m not saying he’ll be a perfect QB if or when the job is his, but they definitely got themselves a good QB

@HighlightRoad what does Pressure have to do with being a good QB or not? It’s deeper than pressure. reading defense, changing plays based on what u see, accuracy of throws, making the right decision. All these men are in the NFL for a reason. Ridder has major upside can’t just say “Pressure” and use that as lead for why someone won’t be good 😂
@The Nation I said going off the QBs that have succeeded in the NFL, all of them had in common was being pressured heavily but still being able to make the throws, it seeems to translate to the NFL great, mahomes, Allen, Herbert, Lamar, etc all got pressured a ton but made plays. That’s what it has to do with it, like I said I could be wrong, I’m just going off thAt, like some analysis go off how many snaps the QB has had or how hard a QBs can throw etc, going off pressure seems to be a reliable trait, can you read? No need to be so upset, it’s my opinion.
Been watching Mariota since the ducks and have only wanted to see him succeed, as a cowboys fan I wish him good luck
It’s all about staying healthy. If he does, he will do well. He is starts taking big hits and it gets to his head, he will be a backup quarterback for the next 3-5 years. I too wish him the best.

Woulda been nice jus couldn’t stay healthy but he could pull a tannehill and be real good again he’s 34 now been pretty good he started his prime at like 29

Im an Oregonian born and raised and im happy to see Mariota out there with the falcons! Dude was SO talented in college, then got a shitty deal with his injury so im happy to see him on the field more 🤘🏽

Glad to see the Falcons using the pistol formation for fast quarterbacks instead of the shotgun all the time.
It’s more conducive to their abilities
Takes out all the fancy footwork dropping back from Center.
And removes the predictability of the shotgun formation.
I knew something was going on when they traded Matt Ryan let me know that they were going with a different offensive philosophy

I was impressed watching Mariota. Went from running to making pressure passes in the pocket. Ridder being poised again but couldn’t score because of his OL. Overall the QBs look confident in the system…as long as Franks is not under center and maybe passing out water, we’d be good
