@The Unknown Gem Guess who? Think Quinn wanted him. And Morris has the nerve to defend Koetter (maybe out of a false sense of loyalty to Q) but long term, Raheem isn’t the guy anyway. Not really HC material over the long haul. The entire staff needs replacing except Ulbrich.

@William Paul Matt was holding the ball too long before Koetter arrived TBH. I’ve had this complaint about him for years. He’s skittish and indecisive. But when Schaub has played, he gets rid of the ball quickly and decisively. Film don’t lie. Play calling IS an issue but holding the ball and taking sacks instead of running or throwing it away is mostly Matt.

@Nunna Ya l agree about Ryan but l would rather see Benkert.

@William. I’ve been saying all year we need to let Benkert play instead of Matt. He moves the chains and fires up the offense. Raheem is probably telling McKay he needs an OC and QB.

Matt was partially responsible I’ll give you that but just the playcalling was terrible we shouldn’t have run with a defense this good on run defense and having third and long and yeah matt did take too long on some plays, but what I saw was classic dirk kotter long developing plays for deep passes that take way too long and no reviver got open. Matt was force to throw 50/50 balls. Without julio every reciver got locked and matt was left to die in the back. It wasn’t just matt the entire offense played poorly especially dirk. Plus this is one of the better defenses in the league eventhough I hate to say it, but you can’t give the entire blame to Matt but he did play his part

@Mauricio S Agreed. Like I said, he needs a better OC. Even a 5 year old can call better plays than Koetter.

That sorry behind staff too. And unlike some people, I know Morris is not the guy. Not HC material. Like a backup QB, can fill in temporarily and be solid but not starter caliber. Plus he endorses Koetter. Nope! Both gotta go.

@Mauricio S Matt himself is the reason for the multiple OCs, except Shanahan, cause he’s average at best and Blank has given both Mike Smith and Dan Quinn the opportunity to change OCs thinking the outcome would be different but it hasn’t and even though the Falcons have never had a defense you really can’t use that as an excuse. And I’m not sure what you mean by saying he’s inventing a new kind of mobile QB cause I’ve seen nothing of the sort unless you mean the kind that starts sprinting in a panic and throws an interception then says he’s got to recognize that situation yet never does, if that’s what you mean then yes I see that every week. The salary cap is interesting in Atlanta but the Falcons don’t have to release him they can trade him or just bench him (which I’ve seen done in these situations ) if the new regime has someone else they’d rather have. Julio isn’t physically going to be able to play in another season or two so I expect they’ll try to trade him or ask him to restructure his contract, they may as Ryan the same thing, but he’s banged up really bad but I will say the Falcons aren’t the same without him being double or triple covered and honestly that should leave Ryan with at least one good target and if you look at the film it does but he either over/under throws them, gets intercepted or doesn’t see them at all. An elite QB makes an ok OC look like a genius just look at Romeo Crenell, Adam Gase, Todd Haley, the list goes on and on and on of OCs that an elite QB made look good and when that OC moved on to either other OC/assistant head coach or actual head coach they couldn’t do it without said QB, sure HC is a totally different ballgame but if they fail at HC they go back to being an OC but never regain the magic, looking at you Norv Turner. I mean we really don’t know what the Falcons are going to do and you could be right or I could be right we won’t know till next year but I’m not going to be surprised no matter what happens.

@SRH Matt Ryan made Dirk look like an offensive genius in 2014 which lead him getting a head coaching job so your point there is invalid. Also what I meant by being sneaky mobile, I should have been more clear. He moves around the pocket finds his recivers. I dont see him panicking and throwing picks. I see him either scrambling to the side trying to find something because the playcalling is garbage, or he tries to gain yards. In this game he couldn’t because he isn’t flashy mobile or really mobile. He mobile enough or sneaky mobile. It ain’t just Julio who is suffering from injuries it’s the entire league that is suffering from injuries this year. As an older person he will need the offseason preparation that he didn’t get so that point can’t be true until next year. Also Matt doesn’t only make his OC look good but also his recivers. Hooper got paid, Roddy white had his best years with matt, taylor gabriel, Mohammed sanu, justin hardy, I could keep going. He makes almost every subpar person on his team look like pro bowlers. But you have to give credit that the saints defense this year is pretty good and we weren’t prepared. It’s one game man come on. We were 0-5 because of the DQ and now we are seeing if Matt and Julio aren’t perfect dirk calls random BS calls that makes matt look bad under a actually good defense. Also look how much better our defense looks with just a new play caller. We didn’t add any new players just a new playcalling and the same thing has to be done to the offense.

@SRH. Matt won the MVP by dumping off short passes to the RB’s coming out of the backfield because he can’t throw past ten yards with accuracy. 2 or 3 good passes a game and thats it. That MVP SB year both RB’s had 1k yard seasons from those dump off passes.

@LA Ryan really your going to go there , okay the reason why Matt had to throw to our RBs in 2016 is because we had a terrible o line Kyle shanahan play calling masked that also your going to the extreme that he can’t throw that he is essentially current drew brees. No stop the has an accurate deep ball it ain’t russel Wilson level but it’s up there. Also you don’t win MVPs with checkdowns other wise than joe Flacco and Alex Smith would be MVPs. The man is accurate as heck. The td he ran for against Denver was because there was no one on that side of the field other than the db who fell down. Anyone can see we need a QB asap. Raheem needs to bring in Benkert from the practice squad and give him a shot. If he doesn’t he won’t be getting the HC job.

@LA Ryan And 2 interceptions. He and Julio account for over 25 percent of our entire salary cap. One of them can’t play anymore and the other one can’t even get on the field anymore because of constant injuries. Due to the structure of their bloated contracts we are stuck with both of them for another 2 years. I’m sorry but the near-future is pretty bleak also.
