What do you mean “finally drafting good” lol? Our weakest draft class under the Quinn era was the 2017 draft. Only decent player we got was Kazee and he’s no longer here. 2015 draft class was solid with Grady/Hardy/Coleman, 2016 draft class was the best to date 3 Pro Bowlers and 4 starters. 2018 was solid we got Ridley/Gage/Oluokun. 2019 Lindstrom/McGary and last year Terrell and Walker. Falcons have drafted multiple Pro Bowlers and key contributors over the past 6yrs. It was just bad coaching by Dan Quinn.

@Seth Williamson DQ wasn’t making the daft picks. TD was making the draft pics. He controlled those decisions. Trades, FAs, DRaft PIcks, etc. DQ only controlled the final 53 man roster. TD got fired because he tied his hip to DQ and DQ is a choke artists and TD had to go down with the shp. TD nailed the 18′ draft, 19′,draft, and 20′ draft. We had expectations to make the playoffs all of those seasons but DQ choked. The talent is there and now that we have PItts we are SB contenders. ATl now has one of hte best defensive coordinator.s. Can’t name more than 10 teams with the talent we have.

@John Davis I think they’ll pick up a DE soon but I don’t think there’s a DT they might like until maybe later in the draft. Since we’re switching to a 3-4 base alignment I think they’re looking for a bigger body type and the one’s who have been higher in the draft are more pass rush types but they lack the pass rushing abilities. They might not even draft one at all. But look out for 1 or 2 edge rushers, a RB, and maybe a couple of more secondary players. Also a receiver.

@Pancho Villa that’s why they should have traded back and got D line help Pitts will be a great player but with no defense they will have too put 45 points a game.

@John Davis They got a more pressing need with a safety. If I’m being honest, the DT class this year is quite weak. There’s no need to draft at that position when you still can get better value in free agency. This isn’t a great defensive class. The secondary position has better value this year and they got a player who is going to come in, play in a system that fits him and start day 1 in comparison to DT which really isn’t a position of need. I honestly believe that the value towards the back end of this draft is better for DE because the top players at that position is very raw but has potential, but you can find someone who can make an impact at that position in the 4th or 5th round this year and I’m positive with 6 picks left, they’ll address it.

@John Davis No, they won’t because ATL has one of the best defensive coordinators in the league and Dean Peeis is inheriting a defense that was 6th in run defense an 19th in scoring.

Don’t need him, signed Mike Davis who was a beast last year. We signed the top 2 maybe #1 safety in the draft instead to address the defense.
