Team is competing, they have to learn to be on the winning side of these close games.
The Falcons will be alright, we just need to hire a new DC, and dedicate the first 3 rounds of the draft to defensive picks; Arthur Smith needs to turnover offensive play calling to an OC, so he can focus more on being an HC.
We need another good receiver as well
Art is a hell of a coach and I can’t wait to see what he can do now that we’ll have some cap space to get good players!

I don’t believe in Arthur after throwing Marcus under the bus with bad coaches play calls.
O line needs to step up and defense really needs help especially the D coaches.
Change the WR patterns and TE…
Create better blocking for a new passing team to help the running game.
Another good experience for Ridder and us as we see if he’s gonna be a true franchise qb of the future or not. He only gets a few games this season before it ends so can we really say it’s enough to make a decision this off-season on him? Maybe but I’d remind people that alota all time greats had bad rookie years that played their first season. That doesn’t mean Ridder is an all time great for sure just means that some of our fans are jumping on him after just two starts which is completely ridiculous. I’m glad we are officially eliminated from the playoffs so these people can drop that. We where never a playoff team. We are building something here with coach Smith. He has our offense one of the best running games in the league with his play callling and player selection. If he can find a franchise qb for his system we will be good on offense. Maybe it’s Ridder Maybe it isn’t. That’s what we are trying to find out. As far defense goes we need alot. Still need a real threat passrusher. Need another cb. Need some cover safties. Let’s get to this off-season with plenty of money. Go falcons.
I agree if Smith change the play calling next year. Get rid of some coaches be the best for this team.
Smith had a quarterback in Marcus Mariota and Ridder but needs O line to PROTECT the passing game…
You have got to be kidding me.
They can’t run the ball when they need to and Arthur’s play calling is avg at best. That’s excluding that double end around BS he ran with Franks last week. The fact that he called that and that Franks is even on this team is insane. And his player selection is trash. We’ll just to have to see who else the Bears cut to know who he’ll sign at the end of the season.
@Robert Smith we will just have to agree to disagree because I love what coach Smith has done as a hole over the first two seasons. When’s the last time we had what really in my mind should have been three pro bowl running backs? Thats all Smith and his play callling and player selection. He brought those guys in. Algier maybe a star in the making. Smith just needs to find that right qb for his vision and we are gonna be pretty dam good on offense I think. To me our biggest holes are on defense. If we want to run the ball and play defense which is Smiths basic scheme. We must have a good defense and as of these first two years with Smith and Pees the defense is still very much a work in progress. We will finally have some money this off-season to try and get that fixed. I say we give Smith and Pees atleast one more season but really a build takes time so I’d say two more seasons at the minimum to be fair.

Smith needs to either change some defense coaches and quarterback coaches or resign. It’s not 5hw quarterback. It’s poor plays and receivers play (patterns) to get open not to mention pass Protection on the offensive section.
Now the defense needs a new coach.
@Dennis Dumancas again agree to disagree. I just don’t think we need to change Pees. I just think we need to give Smith and Pees more time and that’s just my opinion that I’m not going to change. And qb has been some of the problem.
Next year it will be interesting to see how the brass puts the Falcons together. Not making the playoffs next year will be unacceptable. Other than running the football, the Falcons aren’t good at anything. The offense can’t score points and the passing game is a work in progress. That’s on the coach. The defense can keep them in games , But they don’t sack the quarterback and the center gets pushed around alot. Changes on this team should be coming.
They need to draft defense and go out and sign fa this upcoming season and one more wr london needs more help

Hopefully we can keep A.Smith for years to come. He came to a mess of an organization & he’s turning it around but it’s not gonna happen overnight.

Marcus gave us the competitive edge. Ridders learning curve was hampered by impatient fans & politics. Next season looks to be the same. Marcus winner of a bunch of awards including the Heisman. Compare the two and add the NFL experiences. Impatient falcons fans & couch potato wannabe coaches sabotaged this season with all that crying about the QB. It only takes away from all the other great players on the team who are giving everything they have. Stop the whining and start supporting.
The draft should be interesting. Finally out of cap hell. I hope pitts can get back to 100%

I know we’re pretty much playing for next season and players are getting some experience but some of these refs are incompetent. It’s kind of hard to win when the refs seem to miss calls that should go the Falcons way but instead trips them up causing them to lose their momentum in the game…this has happened a few times this season in which the Falcons had a good chance of winning the games.
Ravens fan here I was very impressed with Ridder & the RB…Ridder look like he have a future in the league . Our defense usually make rookie QBs look bad he did great !
I can feel the emotions flurry in coach. I’m subjective in this though. We were greatly under estimated this season and excelled in many ways. Our new comers in the front office inherited a mess and have been diligent custodians in looking for ways to clean things up and rearrange our football club not just for now but for future long term success. I know that people think that having more money is the answer to every problem. What i believe is that people that have good discipline can make proper decisions with a little and their decisions scale upwards as they obtain more. I have seen this positive trend and I’m personally anticipating Greater for the Falcons in the seasons to come. I know this means difficult trades, clean signings, and effective draft. We looked like a different front going into to the spring training this season. It’s going to be an even more competitive season next year with more to work with. Let’s finish strong and get amped for next year. I’m looking forward to what next year brings the city, fans, and team!!! Heads up coaches, players, trainers, and fans!!! Let’s show our sportsmanship and get back to work!!!!
