Weird how running, play action, and a mix of formations was effective early.
Anyone know why they thought shotgun/rpo pass wacky was the way to go late?
Anyone explain why KC abandoned what worked in the game in favor of what has not worked ALL SEASON? KC seriously needs to evaluate this year. This game was a microcosm of why the had offensive struggles.
Stop with the RPO’s. It’s been high risk low reward for 2 seasons. The coaches should apologize to the players. That’s how bad it was.

@Elephant of Light we were averaging over 7.2 yards per carry ..Bengals could not stop run game and we ended up losing over 25 yards on sacks because of pass calls..1st and Goal at the 5…Run..Run..run..kick FG IF NECESSARY

We are a lot older, and teams are figuring us out…we need a new defensive scheme, and we need a true number 2 receiver. But that true number two will only work if Mahomes passes him the ball, if he stays in love with hill and kelce them in big games we are toast….

That was the most epic meltdown I’ve seen this season. And 2nd half Mahomes was awful. He was either getting sacked or throwing to the opposing team. The game didn’t end earlier only because Apple on the Bengals couldn’t catch a direct pass from Mahomes. What happened to him?!?

The Chiefs blew an 18 point lead in 2021 vs the Bengals..Lost an 18 point lead at Home in 2017 vs the Titans.. Big Playoff losses are a problem with Andy.. They also blew a 28 point lead vs the Colts in the 2013 NFL Season..ouch

@Ed V mahomes wants to win championships. The team failed yesterday. The defense failed to provide a pass rush. Andy reid sometimes falls into a terrible habit of throwing too much, when at times he needs to run. This is the danger when you have a tremendously gifted quarterback. You still are responsible for coaching the team, and adapting a vision when the opposite team adjusts. With that said Patrick didnt perform well in the second half.
Love you Andy.. hopefully you guys learn from this, we’ll never just walk into the SB.. teams are going to be gunning for us every single week… come back and leave no doubt next season!

Watching the Chiefs since 1966, I TOTALLY AGREE, that was a HUGE lift to the Bengals knowing they just stole 3 or 7 points from going further behind. And not running 2nd half was a killer. McKinnon was getting 6-8 yards a pop, and then 2nd half he does it again on first play then a stupid screen that gets intercepted was all that told me this team is gunna choke. Just knew it.

That deep ball to Hill was open but just a second late getting to him. Great play by that guy to knock the ball out. Seen people saying why go deep for the home run but Mahomes was off just a tick the second half. Thanks for the season guys. I been around for years when we never got close to this spot at the end of the year.

@Tony Scott for being a second off it was a INT and a lucky one at that. The ball could’ve deflected either side and been a incomplete pass. If not, it’s a huge play and chiefs win and we’re having a different conversation.
@Alex Rodriguez if you play the if game anything is possible. If Rodney Harrison makes a better play on the helmet catch the Patriots go undefeated. If Eli doesn’t escape the sack on the Manningham catch the Patriots win that super bowl. If the Seahawks run the ball they probably win back to back super bowls. If the falcons just run the ball and kick the FG up 8 to make it an 11 point game the Patriots lose that super bowl. If I had wings I’d be able to fly……

Andy deserves so much credit for helping to return the Chiefs to prominence, but he was completely out coached by the Bengals coaching staff today. His play calls at the end of each half were atrocious! He made it so easy for them to stage their comeback. Also, never making adjustments in games & going away from what’s working, is mystifying at best. 🤔

im a broncos fan, but love for andy reid. What else should he say, taking responibiliy and saying you didnt do a good job is all you can do, the opposite would be to say its not my fault and lying. so be glad he says this.
He makes an honest effort to do better each time.
He got the chiefs a Lombardi, he does an amazing job and is by far one of the top 3 coaches in the league. Not a chiefs fan, but rather him admit he has to do a better job straight up rather than give excuses. I admire that a lot about him.
It’s disappointing from a fan perspective, but I respect him for taking the blame, when clearly not all of these issues were solely Andy’s fault. If I was the player on the team, I would truly appreciate Andy not throwing me under the bus. He sticks up for his guys. I hate when we lose but still admire him for doing that. If he says the wrong thing, the media blows it all out of proportion and it leads to unnecessary drama. Kinda is what it is… just hope we learn from this terrible second half and can overcome these obstacles going forward.

It was his fault. That call before the half was terrible. Just like that play call against the Bills when he brought in Noah Grey to run a QB option at 3rd and 1 in a critical scoring situation. Also, he wasted a timeout while challenging that play. I wouldn’t trade him for any other coach, just stating, this loss was his fault

Unbelievable play calling in second half. The overtime drive the 2 throws to Robinson which hasn’t been thrown to for 2 years was head scratching to say the least.
Andy can blame himself as much as he wants but it can’t be denied that even when the play call worked, Mahomes was missing some throws in the second half which could have been extended a drive.
Not a chiefs fan (giants fan) I love this coach. He puts his heart into the game. When things don’t go right he fully admits it’s all on him. I love how humble he is and has my full respect. Any team would be lucky to have him as head coach.
