I think he was referring to key plays and shutting Broncos down at the end. Also perhaps he knows the defense had to deal with multiple Mahomes picks?

@VladThe chiefs havent had a top 15 defense since 2015. Spags has literally never fielded anything higher than the 16th ranked and that was for ONE half of 2019. The first half of that year the defense was on pace to give up more yds and td’s than bob sutton’s 2018 masterpiece. What drugs are you on?

I know you chief fans will have your own opinions about Andy Reids comments but from my perspective I think Reid is a class act and a smart football mind, and I’m sure y’all know that regardless how you feel about his comments sometimes. Y’all got a good one. it’s been your time for the last many years and it’s still your time now. As a broncos fan I hate it but as a football fan you have to respect the Andy Reid era chiefs. If I wasn’t a fan of an AFC West team I would probably root for Mahomes bc he’s already one of the all time greats, and he’s up there up there for sure and will challenge anyone else for GOAT status I don’t feel like there is much doubt there. Y’all probably don’t understand how surreal it was for opposing fans to go against Mahomes his first full season as a starter. You think you have him and he does something impossible. You get mad at first but now you kinda just expect it. Truly a special player.

Well said. It’s wise to appreciate what we have while we have it. I remember watching the Chiefs struggle against Manning when he was in Denver. Those were rough years for us but I had to respect the Broncos accomplishments during that time.

Mahomes throwing 3 interceptions was a bigger problem than the defense. But I do agree with you fire spags, he’s been horrendous the last two years
I agree ..I feel like this year we have the pieces on defense to be more physical and aggressive. I feel spags scheme is too conservative and he plays not to loose opposed to trying to physically dominate. We definitely need a nasty interior defender. DT or a hard nose MLB.
@Blamed Mahomes throwing 3 interceptions is uncharacteristic. With the so called “talent” this team has, should have only gave up 16 pts. It’s going to take another failed playoff performance to even consider moving on from Spags.
The broncos defence was tremendous. We think we are the best . I am fan of carlaftis. But spags must see the broncos defence plays to take some moves. And must buy there defence players. They are cheap
Chiefs do not look ready for the playoffs this year. D is horrible left only receiver open all game long. O line was a joke OB is getting Pat killed. Pat looked drunk just throwing the ball way off the mark. Spags sticking with zone and blitzing an obvious screen.
Some of y’all spoiled. This team isn’t going to beat every team 35-0. They’re imperfect. They beat themselves a lot. Some guys will have career days and others will just not have it. The difference is that KC can play imperfect and still win, while most teams cannot. Additionally, at this point in the year, a win is a win. If you’re tripping every week because of something different so someone needs cut or fired, you may not be emotionally built for sports fandom.
Reid will never say anything that has any meaning in these pressers.
What’s with the play calling, when you are ahead 27 -0 and 4 minutes left in the first half instead of running the ball, Patrick throws two picks within 3 minutes you just can’t do that, you can’t call pass plays at that point.the worst play decision making ever.
We held the Broncos to just over 300 total yards with Russ playing as close to former Russ as he has all season, despite 3 horrible interceptions by Mahomes putting them in terrible spots, with 6 sacks and 2 interceptions of their own and I see comments calling the d terrible and calling for Spags to be fired. Some of you have reached peak entitlement, smh.
The Kansas City chiefs philosophy is to outscore opponents and demanding that Mahomes be Superman every week. The patriots by contrast had a 20 year winning formula with great defenses and let the defense bail out Brady only when Brady wasn’t Superman. I see the same formula w The bengals. (They are a more balanced team.)Unfortunately being Superman in the playoffs is possible but unlikely.
He is trying to keep the defense motivated, and just work on deficiencies in practice
