Andrew Berry: “Adversity is universally important for growth” – FANTASY FOOTBALL FAN SITE
John R.

Great! We’ve had 22 years of adversity. Where is the growth?!?!?!?

    John Lowe

LiveWireRed B.

Andrew didn’t sound particularly excited when talking about Baker as a potential superbowl winning qb.

    DCUPtoejuice

The adversity he is actually referring to is moving on from players like OBJ and Baker.

    Devjarel Jones

@DCUPtoejuice I agree with you. In my opinion, I believe the egoism and stubbornness of OBJ and Baker has effected the team as unit. But I also believe the team enjoy OBJ in the locker room as well. Even though he was injury prone through his tenure in Cleveland, the locker room enjoyed his presence.

Jeff W.

Yeah. When the team is actually growing from “adversity”, our team as a whole (your fans are loyal but tired) isn’t growing. It’s like Benjamin Button. 20 years and I get about 2 season’s to celebrate good to descent football. Get a qb before you all lose your jobs behind a mistake. Plant that flag in Ohio.

    Jeff Warren Anderson

Yeah, get rid of Baker… He’ll go up to Pittsburg… (they’ll take him)… and move on to your next rebuild

    The2PointO

@Jeff Warren Anderson you are all missing the point. We need a serviceable qb that can establish proof of concept for our schemes as we draft and build we can not afford a complete rebuild or we will burn 30 more qbs in 22 seasons

    John Connor

It doesn’t matter who they get at QB. This ding dong head coach and, his high school offense will ruin him. What do you think Rogers would come here and, flourish in it lol?

Lizze

Why can’t Kevin ever use Hunt and Chubb together every once in a while. They have to start mixing things up. My husband calls plays from the couch , that’s a problem. They don’t seem to make in game adjustments.. stacking the box is becoming the norm, where’s the answer to that ?

    Jesse Molina Jr

I have been saying the same thing since last year

    MJBe USA

Your drunk bf got thru 2 you

    Jim Harris

@Q Horton I’ve been saying that since last year. There should never be an empty backfield on 1st or 2nd down unless there is huge yardage to pick up or time running out and your behind. A Rogers or Brady can get away with that but not Baker, at least not now.

    Jim Harris

You are right on sister. Having Chubb and Hunt both in the backfield on the same play would be a smart coaches dream. Adjustments are part of a successful team and for some reason Stefanski has a huge problem with that. Your husband and some other knowledgeable fans would probably call better plays.

    Chandler Medlea

    EXACTLY 💯

Tyler69

The media needs to stfu about Odell! He’s gone! Let’s move tf on!!

Mark Bowman

The rest of this schedule is brutal. We may be sitting this year during the playoffs.

    Edward Gaines

Root for Cincy. At least one NFL team from Ohio makes it in.

    abdul smith

    This is a fact

    John Connor

May be sitting lol? We’re gonna lose out the rest of the games at this point and, talking of remotely making the playoffs is laughable at best.

    Kj Adams

@John Connor I agree with you. This sucks. I was so excited for this season too.

Common Sense

Odell scores one touchdown for the Rams and Daryl Ruiter acts like he left and became an all-star. 🥴🤷🏻‍♂️

    Eyes wide open

Yeah before that 1 of 4 for 5yards lol

    tedium1313

    Cleveland Media = trash takes

Jason Schultz

I will say our entire WR core and TE are extremely overrated and underperforming. Whether that’s because of stefanski ridiculous TE formation or lack of WR scheme or Baker himself. I still believe in baker if healthy but we need to seriously reevaluate those positions.

    P-Wee-Da-Gr8

Njoku is a beast and Byrant is still learning the game.. Hooper has to go..

    Mario Hartson

@Jason Schultz he’s been inconsistent before the injury. He reminds me of someone like Jay Cutler….talented but inconsistent. His arm isn’t the problem…it’s the mental stuff

    Robert Janko

Dropped balls? The oline is much weaker than expected. The playcalling. The whole offense has to get better, its not only Baker.

    Jason Schultz

    @Robert Janko without a doubt

SpareSomeCheeks

30 mins of GM speak, actions are louder than words

    The Jamz

What do you expect? Him to reveal the inner workings of the front office to the public? That’s just inane.

Ohio Biker

Injuries, play calling , Drops, Pre Snap Penalties.3 out of 4 are fixable

    Mario Hartson

    You forgot bad throws

    Ohio Biker

@Mario Hartson he’s known for his accuracy so that would fall under injuries

William Patton

The reality is this team has much better talent than their record. There has been in the past and again it seems to be taking place this season where there is a lack of accountability with the players, coaches and ownership. We can talk about reacting to adversity and dealing with it but when this cycle keeps occurring year after year with the exception of last season there needs to be a hard look at the organization. Failure occurs for many reasons which are easy to identify. People at the top are not qualified to make decisions and then their incompetence leads to systematic failure throughout the organization. Demanding change does not make it happen. I served in a tactical capacity for three decades where my decisions at times affected peoples lives. I can assure you if my work product was even remotely similar to what is going on with the Cleveland Browns I would have been out of a job. Stop saying we are working on it and trying to change the culture or I accept full responsibility or I have to do a better job and DO IT.

    TOPO42

agree with your statement but the team is built on Dorsey’s vision/pieces. His QB, bad trades (OBJ, didn’t need him when we traded for him) and draft choices. I really think this front office needs time to work together, Berry and Stefanski. Get the QB they want (if Baker isn’t it) and then blame can be placed if it doesn’t work out. We were a program of dysfunction before these guys took over and it can’t change after just one year. In a tactical world all the pieces need to work together and be put in place based on their strengths. Belichick is probably the perfect example of this, pieces working together in complete harmony. They’re making smart moves with solidifying the lines and signing key building blocks. I think we’ll see them move on from Baker and truly build a contender from there. We might be looking at a stepping stone team, we just need to be patient. Sucks because we all wanted them to win this year but media hype and the idea of what could be blinded us to what the team really is. Again agree with you on what you said but responsibility really can’t be accepted until you completely fail, IMO.

    abdul smith

@TOPO42 actually OBJ was a quality acquisition, we just didn’t know how to use him… he especially was good at taking the top off a defense!!!!

    Kristopher Gutierrez

@abdul smith Not for what we gave up. We got zero return.

Havic Tali

Our receivers don’t really have any statistics climbing 📈

Q Horton

Mr Berry you’ve done your job since you’ve been here. My complaints do not lie with you, as you’ve brought in an enormous amount of talent.

    Edward Michalski

“Mr. Berry”… LMFAO. He’s just a GM. No matter how many leadeship book quotes he gives when speaking; he is held accountable to obtaining results of WINNING just like everyone one else….and they are not winning. No matter what “talent” you think he brought in. Addressing the defense was a no brainer (everyone in the league saw it) and you have an owner who spends money (again not hard to get players when they get paid) BUT NOT addressing the offense, specifically Baker and Odell not “working well together” two players (workers) in a union of all things can’t be managed….lol…THAT IS A FAILURE OF GENERAL MANAGEMENT that has rippled through the entire offense.

Furthermore, my sense is this dude would snitch in his mom to keep his job.

    Edward Michalski

Also my guy, let’s not forget he could not and would not deal Odell in the off-season, when he knew all the stuff about Baker and Odell not working….. Then he has to let him walk because he couldn’t deal him again before the trade deadline….

If Andrew Berry couldn’t see Odell or his Dad’s nonsense coming when he wanted out as a sign of how far out of today ch he is with leadership then I don’t know what is…. He employed HOPE as a business strategy. You can not HOPE you must ENSURE.

    Edward Michalski

17:43 Tells you what kind of leader this dude is…. He can’t hold himself accountable and explain how he messed it up from jump and was in over his head and didn’t ask for help.

He got beat by a player, his Daddy and a YouTube video…. “Mr. Berry” still laughing.

    Q Horton

    @Edward Michalski agree to disagree.

Oh and I address all types of people by “Mr” and “Ms” so dont overthink it 😉

    Drew St.Hilaire

I feel like he’s been killing it with the draft selections and moves. That being said our other acquisitions we’ve had under Mr Berry have been disappointing overall.

I think this guy is doing a great job as the leagues youngest GM. That being said I do think he’s made a few mistakes and I think it’s important to hold him accountable in those scenarios. No one’s perfect and he’s doing a great job but we shouldn’t blindly follow him.

Jay Taylor

The *Post Season!* Are you kidding me? We might not even finish about .500! Has he not seen our offense lately bc we are *terrible* right now!

Captain Shadow

So all the adversity of losing to the top teams played so far will lead to the success of beating all the top teams left on the schedule, which is pretty much every game? Can’t wait to see it Mr Berry, can’t wait to see it.

    Edward Michalski

He has no idea what’s going on with his own players/ he’s legal not leadership. SMH. And worse off he is catching no smoke for sucking at his job.

SirGrizz

Have we ever had our whole team(both sides of the ball) for more than 10 snaps at a time?

    Dave V

Yeah…back when Marty Schottenheimer was coach.

Frank Mercado

We would of beaten Pittsburgh and Baltimore if we would have benched Baker due to his injuries.

Hobo Bob

Andrew is my favorite Browns!

Felix DeAngelis

It’s clear to me that Baker will be back next year. Even if he continues to struggle. He said they will look at his whole body of work and so let’s hope he turns it around.
