While Cardinals coach Bruce Arians had said that Ellington was going to see a minimum of 15 touches per game coming out of the bye, that has not been the case at all. Rashard Mendenhall continue to get the bulk of the work and Ellington’s touches have been limited more to the 10-12 touch range.
Since coming out of the bye, Ellington has averaged just 36 rushing yards and 16.3 receiving yards per game and hasn’t found the end zone since Week 8 against Atlanta. While fantasy owners know his potential, he cannot be a trusted fantasy option so long as Mendenhall is still seeing the bulk of the work. Even as a flex play, he is suspect, at best.
