While you would love to use a guy like Ellington as your flex play this week when he faces a run defense that allows 126.1 rushing yards per game, it’s becoming too difficult to trust in the fact that he’s going to touch the ball each week. Cardinals coach Bruce Arians told the media two weeks ago that he would make sure that Ellington gets at least 15 touches per game.
Two games have since passed and Ellington hasn’t sniffed 15 carries since that announcement and has been completely underutilized in two very favorable match-ups. He still has tremendous upside and has the ability to break for a big run, particularly on a screen pass, but it’s hard to trust him given his coach’s ridiculous affectation for Rashard Mendenhall.
