I like Alex. He kinda reminds me of Willie but on the D Line. He’s always full of energy and just a physical force.
Letting ogbah walk to keep okafor was a big mistake
Miami’s paying Ogbah more than 7 times as much as KC’s paying Okafor. I think KC’s getting good value for Okafor, and he’s an integral part of a very strong 8- or 9-man rotation on the d-line. But he’s not starting. He’s a rotational player. And I think he’s better coming off the bench with fresh legs in the middle of the game than he would be as a starter. Plus he’s widened his repertoire and can help out in the flat and some shallow zones, when the blitz is on, and he’s picking up the odd pressure and sack off of their tendency to blitz with him in there, so they’re blocking shadows, which is always good for a DE’s game.
Ogbah’s starting most games, although he’s missed a couple here and there, for what reason I don’t know. Ogbah’s making over $7 million. Okafor’s cap hit this year is $850,000.
Ogbah was a clear cap casualty. They definitely got an upgrade when they signed Melvin Ingram, who’s got more bend and explosion than Okafor. But Okafor’s a solid, versatile rotational player who’s a part of the turnaround on defense. I think this is his 2nd year in Spags’s defense, and he really gets it and buys in. They still needed more from DE than Okafor and Danna were giving them, which was why Chris Jones lined up, outside. I STILL like the idea of some elephant sets, with Jones at DE. I think there’s a time and a place for it.

I agree with Okafor, (team esp offense is not playing at 100% yet) but they are a heck of a lot closer now than they were a month or so back. Best time to peak is the playoffs and SB!
