from his track record, he miles ahead of Trent in terms of character

The more I think about this pick, the more sense it makes. It’s difficult to explain, but there’s a small chance that what Mayock is doing is really smart. Either that, or Alex is just another reach. Either way, I think day 2 will be the most important in the draft for us.
I don’t think mayock had anything to do with this pick. he said it himself this was “cables guy”. he also said gruden loved the player. just because hes the “gm” hes kinda doing what they want. at least for the first round picks. gruden may toss him a bone here and there.
with him being picked 1st rd at 17 he’s going to be around for a while
