“A bunch of overall good people”. It’s a throwaway line. And maybe I’m giving it too much weight because I’m following the Jets more closely than I ever have. 59 years old. Watched Broadway Joe win the Superbowl sitting on my Dad’s knee. Been a fan ever since. But this year I think I’m gonna’ be okay win or lose. Because it’s not some abstract thing to me any more. It’s not just “numbers & bodies” as Carl says here. Maybe to him in that context as a defensive player. But to me? A fan? A life long fan who’s struggled through the mud bowl, the fake spike, the buttfumble. I knew the main guys on those teams. I’m sure lots of them are “good people” (Klecko seems awesome from the recent interviews). But watching almost every interview and every practice going back to last year, there’s one thing Saleh has done that’s already a victory and will keep me cheering. This year, I know I’ll be watching “A bunch of overall good people”. Win or lose, I know I’m rooting for the good guys. Good luck Jets. Let’s goooooo!!! #TakeFlight
