He still should be inducted posthumously due to both his great plays and attempting to save 3 young boys for which he lost his life. He was a phenomenal humanitarian and footballer. A hero.

I remember being in shock when I heard the news. No one knows how great of a football player he would have become, but we know how great of a person he was.

Joe is the reason I’m a @chiefs fan, at a young age, I remember to casually turning on the tv as Joe Delaney took a hand off and sprinted past the defense as they looked in shock of the burst and speed. Not a football fan, I was mesmerized by this man who was easily the best player on both teams. I don’t remember who the Chiefs we’re playing at the time, but they had no answers for the Rookie RB. The fact he didn’t play longer to be remembered as the greatest RB in chiefs history. It’s fitting he is remembered at a even better man!
