Unfortunately his contract has more dead cap than the actual cap hit for the 2021 season so the broncos would be losing money by cutting him. They won’t be able to cut him until 2022
They could try and trade him too because what Justin said
@JustinK It seems Elway has not had a successful free agent signing since Kareem Jackson. Casey injured. Callahan injured all last year: out again. Bouye injured and now suspended. At the very least they have to restructure James’ contract.
Lets trade him and a third to Philly for Wentz. Id take a box of peanuts for Juwan James at this point tho

Personally as a Broncos fan, all this discussion over what should happen, trade this for that, and whether or not we can prosper, is so old beyond measure. I really couldn’t care less anymore and I don’t think I’m alone. Either get a franchise QB that can compete in the AFC West or expect more of the same to come. Btw, Von Miller would’ve just created more turnovers for the offense not to capitalize on. Defense was never the issue, and it never has been.
It’s tiring but that’s seems to be what Denver is doing. They keep swinging on qbs until one guy steps up and says this is my job and I will prove it every week. Sadly, none have but in a quarterback-driven league that tends to happen when you’re on the hunt for a true franchise quarterback
