@I’m Rich& HEARTLESS tbf I think that Roman takes the a part of the blame for that because until the last couple weeks Duvernay hasn’t been getting too much playing time. Lamar still has to take part of the blame as well because you really can tell he doesn’t trust anyone outside of Hollywood & Andrews.

Duvernay could be a security blanket for Lamar as well because that kid has maybe the best hands of anyone in this entire draft class. He had less than 5 drops his entire collegiate career at Texas.

Combine his & Proche’s drops while in college & it’s still less than 10 drops between the 2. Teams have been caught on to the fact that outside of Hollywood & Andrews Lamar has no other weapons to worry about game planning for. I guess Snead has been reliable at times but Boykin has been completely useless this season. He had a score against Pittsburgh last Sunday but other than that he’s been as quiet as a church mouse out there on the field

I love the leadership & energy that Ingram brings to the team don’t get me wrong but Gus & JK deserves the bulk of the carries for us going forward imo. They’ve been constantly gouging teams on the ground in every single game this season but Roman for some unknown reason would inexplicably pull them out of the game too early. We’re 5-2 after 8 weeks so we’re not in that bad of shape but imo every single game this season has been winnable (yes including KC by keeping Mahomes & that offense on the sidelines as long as possible) if we just stuck with what we do better than any other team in the league which is the ground game & milking the clock to keep our offense on the field while letting our defense rest as much as possible. Roman is a great ground game coordinator but a suspect passing scheme coordinator

That’s true. But I think about last year how weak we were against good running teams and yet still finished as a top run D, why, the offense putting the game away and putting opposing offenses to only pass the ball. But when the game was competitive, teams ran all over us. I imagine with JJ watt and Bud Dupree. Teams got beat early and forced into passing situations. But still what our ground game did was impressive and with so many players out. We need to continue to stick with it and get lamar’s confidence up, he needs to stop trying to play hero.

@GamingBros XL this you can tell that Lamar is overthinking things out there on the field compared to last season when he was just doing his own thing. This season he doesn’t look anywhere near of the confident player I saw in the entire 2019 season. I also think Greg Roman has maybe been experimenting with the offense far too much this year . Tryna make Lamar be a primarily pass first QB instead of letting Lamar do Lamar. The OL is playing not up to the standard of last year either tho & you can tell Lamar doesn’t fully trust them too much to protect him which is why he has been indecisive & has happy feet out there. The coaching staff has to remember why we were the best regular season team last year & go back to being a run first offense instead of a pass first offense & the fear of us gashing teams on the ground will open up the opportunities in the passing game like last season

I know Ray Rice was great for us while he was here on the team but I honestly think JK has a higher ceiling & will most likely be even better than Ray was for us. He is really reminiscent of Ray tho on the field. Not just # wise but also in stature & play style as well. He has that low center of gravity exactly like Ray

Exactly bro, we need to get back to forcing our will on teams again in the run game. If we put up 265 on the ground on the #1 defense in Pittsburgh last week it’s no doubt in my mind we could do it to every other of the 31 teams in the league. Of course tho that’s all in Roman’s hands at the end of the day
