If Drew Lock comes out next week against the Chargers and craps his pants like he did against the Chiefs, then I say send him to the bench and see what Brett Rypien can do. The Arizona Cardinals didn’t hesitate to move on from Josh Rosen, who’s a higher pick then Lock. Sometimes you just don’t need a whole season to figure out if someone gets it or not. Drew Lock so far just doesn’t seem to get it. His footwork, accuracy, read progressions have regressed and his decision making is terrible. Give him next week and if he stinks it up again, it’s time to cut bait and move on.
Thing with Rosen is cardinals got a new front office and coaching staff and the coach was kyler Murray fan boy typing was also not the first overall pick Rosen also got 16 games lock had 9

You can’t use the Josh Rosen ordeal in comparison unless you saying get rid of Fangio too. Getting rid of Josh Rosen after 1 year and going with Kyler Murray was 100% because Kliff Kingsbury was coming and wasn’t going with anyone else other than Kyler Murray. A really rare occurrence
Elway was benched his rookie year. Sometimes it’s a reality check. Lock has the mentality to handle that if he does not improve. Let’s be honest though. His worst 2 games are against his home town team in the cold snowy weather. He is just not the same Q I’ve seen when playing the Chiefs. He’s trying to win the game with one throw. He needs to get over this home town BS. You’re a pro now. Just execute the game plan. I do agree this offense has been less than imaginative. Where’s the jet sweeps and motion? It’s like coordinators who learned from Reid forget how to scheme. See Doug Williams for example.
@Michael Sequenzia i think Lock realize that he is playing bad because he goes with the big play and not with the easy one he miss wide open targets because he want that big play he has to learn that and the trick plays of Schurmur are really bad it’s better if he just run a classic offense run well the ball and throw in short and quick with a gain of 5 6 7 yards and run hard then start play actions with passes of +20 yards
Exactly! Shurmer is trying to force Lock into a certain place. I was upset when our last OC got canned after going 4&1 with Lock. That is the only stat Elway should have considered at the end of that season. They were a seemingly PERFECT FIT!

Lock forced a lot of throws and has been missing wide open receivers. He’s not taking advantage what the defense is giving him.
I wasn’t very happy with it either. Shouldn’t jump ship on Shurmer though, let them gel together.

@Average Donnie That’s a reason Herbert did good too tho, the chiefs game planned for Taylor not Herbert so their defensive schemes were for a completely different player.
The chiefs just didn’t try in this game and just played with the broncos.

@Jock Bone I know we’ve gone through a hundred QBs in the last 5 years but I think it’s time us broncos fans learn to be patient. We were so spoiled with peyton manning, we cant settle with anything but amazing right off the bat.

Broncos have the wrong QB starting and will die before they admit it. Schumer is not the guy either. Bad offensive plan and poor execution as well.

The play calling needs to change! I hardly ever see any slants! Also what’s with the stupid trick plays?! We need to switch to a shotgun spread semi-no huddle offense so the defenses can’t change personnel and we spread them and so drew can get the ball out quick. Also let’s stop having 3-4 guys go to the same area for a reception.
Locks 2nd pick was a slant he threw behind Hamler…. only so long you can hide a QB
