I agree
Most look at big plays as chunk plays
But
Amari sparked the drive in a must convert and soon 12 yard catch

We often overlook tge unnoticed block by a RB, tightened, lineman or another receiver
We definitely overlook the extra attention paid to Coop that allows others better ops etc

    Relayer6a

Absolutely right that all those very important things get overlooked by casual fans. It’s not on a stat sheet for them to oogle over and compare so it goes unnoticed. With the Oline in transition here with all the starters out Zeke has been hell blocking in the passing game. He’s gotten overpowered a couple times, but 99% of the time he blocks his guy. And his blocks save sacks because he’s the last line of defense.

Zeke’s one of those offensive players who likes to hit people.

    jeremy x

    @Relayer6a I love that attitude
And by him not shying away from contact to be the initiator when it’s inevitable to absorb a hit and or gain more yards/break a tackle etc, is smart
    PS
Most fans don’t study the stat-sheet,they look at select stats only 🙄
    Lol

I thought that was a great play. Especially considering that Dalton and Cooper wouldn’t have got a lot of reps together. That was trust on Andy’s part that Coop was going to be where he was supposed to. Because if he’s not and that gets picked you know everyone is going to blame Dalton. And then to deliver that ball on time and to a spot where he didn’t have to break stride. In that situation that was a tough play.

The play where he scrambled and hit Gallup on the scramble drill was probably the easiest throw he made. It looked great, mostly because of Gallup’s ability to get his feet down, but the throw wasn’t that difficult. No touch or timing required. Just throw it as hard as you can down the sideline and let Gallup make a play.

Then the final play was again trusting your receiver. Cover 2, whichever safety comes up that’s the guy who’s going to get single coverage and you throw it up there for him. And Gallup is our best contested ball receiver. Again, Dalton trusted him. I know he looked at Cooper 1st, but that’s because Cooper is the #1 receiver, he’s singled and it’s game over. He probably gets open enough to take it to the house. But when he drew the double team Dalton didn’t try and force it to him. He didn’t hesitate to launch that ball up to Gallup. I read that the time to throw on that pass was 2.2 seconds. No time to 2nd guess. You have to trust your read and your teammate.

That might have been one of the first passes I’ve seen in years for the cowboys where the quarterback actually led the receiver perfectly and put it on his numbers not behind them or high or low

    Dragon Tco

    I missed not since romo

    Dezboyz Justwin

I’ve been saying that last 4 years dak passes are behind receivers or low or high his receivers have to work hard to catch balls never get to catch and run in stride. That’s why we haven’t converted a lot of 3rd downs and had to punt or take a field goal but people see stats say dak is the most accurate quarterback yes stats wise but not on field game play and situational game play

This is so spot on. Dak always throws TO the guy instead of IN FRONT of the guy, which allows DB’s to bat the passes down and is a drive killer. I think Dalton is gonna make that apparent.

we paid amari all that money to go to Gallup on all our big game changing plays. Not to mention when cooper takes himself out on huge fourth down.
