Russ had Tyler Lockett wide open in the middle when he threw the fade to Metcalf
If he had one more second Lockett was coming open but he didn’t have that second.
tbf, metcalf has been the more reliable receiver this year. like that throw during the first 4th down they faced on the game winning drive. I thought that was about to be intercepted until metcalf flew.

Running out of time in the game, under a minute and a half left. Gotta throw to the side line so he can step out and stop the clock. Lockett could have got the first which stops the clock too, but DK is a beast at 50/50 balls and generally there are less defenders and chance for him to get doubled on the perimeter than down the middle. Also better chance Metcalf miraculously beats his 1-on-1 down the side line and gets more yards or even scores than Lockett who would be tackled by 2-3 defenders.
The play was probably designed to get Lockett open there, but Russell had a free man rushing him and had to get the ball out a little sooner. That’s where 6’3/230 and a 4.33/40 come in very handy.
How many QBs can you find who gets sacked four times in the first half and get one INT but doesn’t let their head drop? The dude, Russell Wilson is a wizard.

Yes, Aaron Rodgers is good but he’s doing it with the best o-line in the league. What russ has been doing for years with all the terrible o-lines is ridiculous and is far above any other qb in the league.
this O line is far from terrible. its average at worst, which is a HUGE step up from the last 5 years.
