@Levi Scaggs They usually give it to the most productive player with a bias towards QBs and only care about regular season. It’s why Mahomes won and lost in the playoffs. It’s why LJ won and lost in the playoffs. So if he puts up 5 tudds a game, he will be unanimous MVP. Although Mahomes’ OLine needs a lot of beefing up.

The offense and defense let us down big time today if it wasn’t for Russell Wilson. Too many drop balls, the 45yd TD on Metcalf’s mistake on the touch back. Tre Flowers and Shaquille Griffin got burned by Gallup, Cooper and Wilson…it was terrible letting the Cowgirls making the comeback with a 1pt lead. Glad the team managed to close it out by sealing Dink Dunk Dak’s fate INT.

@za21 It was a 3rd down pass and Dallas had all their timeouts, so the TD/first down would have still been necessary.

TheSportsGuru Seahawks running game isn’t stellar, and as a Giants fan, I know what a stellar running game looks like (why did Barkley have to go down with a torn ACL btw), and while Carson is good, he isn’t really elite. Underrated, yes, but not elite. That 2018 season, the Chiefs has Kareem Hunt before he decided to act like an idiot and that was elite running back play.

TheSportsGuru I am in no way trying to put down Mahomes by saying this. But I am saying that he can elevate his game even further if he can learn where exactly he should place the ball for his receivers. Wilson can do that for Lockett, and I can see that for Mahomes in his later years when his arm isn’t as good as it is now. He already has a great rapport with his receivers and the Chiefs aren’t a chaotic mess (unlike a certain long losing NFL team who has just gotten some really talented pieces), but there is a reason why the Seahawks keep winning while other pass-reliant teams lose. It is because those two players can communicate as well as any player. Just get Hill or Kelce reading defenses and understanding when the ball will be thrown before it is thrown and Mahomes will have a Field Day with the NFL (one bigger than the 2018 season). And Lamar could also take some advice from that too.

@The OG I’m telling you man, they’re already at that point. Mahomes knows where to put the ball. His receivers know where to go, even if it’s not planned. They especially know how to read defenses lol. It’s a VERY good system. The only thing keeping them from absolutely dominating is, yes, a run game. When they’re all pass, defenses can commit to the pass. Makes it a bit harder when they are dangerous in both aspects. Now that they have Clyde, I’m hoping that level of dominance returns. This time with a much better defense.

Regarding Seattle, they have an excellent run game my dude. Past two years. Top 5 to 10 in pretty much every rushing stat there is (please don’t make me look it all up, it’s late). It’s one of the biggest reasons why Lockett was so successful, defenses weren’t constantly committed to defending the pass, in fact, they were more so committed to defending the run. I guarantee you, if defenses played Seattle in 2018 like they play KC in general, he wouldn’t have had a perfect passer rating when thrown to. Absolutely no way. Their entire offense up until recently has been the epitome of spread: run the ball to spread the defense and open up the deep pass. It’ll be interesting to see how they fare this year when they face an actual good pass defense for the first time, especially with this new pass heavy approach. It might be a while.

@TheSportsGuru but Mahomes was fortunate to land in KC with one of the best offensive-minded head coaches in Andy Reid and had those weapons in Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce. Russ had to play second fiddle to Marshawn Lynch and the Legion of Boom early on in his career. Despite that he still put up decent numbers. Now there’s no doubt that the Seahawks are his team to lead and he now also has the right group of guys around him to cook on offense.

@Ralph Bansale Sure, but the same goes for Mahomes. He just got the oppurtunity right away. Which is honestly way more impressive than people give him credit for. He got thrown, like, right in the fray after one year of hardly playing. Expected to do at least decent with all of his weapons. Tons of pressure. Safe to say he did a bit more than decent. And the biggest reason for that was him, not anybody else. They just helped.

The sun was in his eyes a lot. He generally plays his best in domed stadiums.

@Tony Stair The stadium is oriented so the endzones are in the north and south ends. If you’re looking down the field (like a QB) there’s pretty much no way for the sun to be in your eyes.

​@TheKeithWayne You know that the sun doesn’t go perfectly over on top of you and from East to West right? The sun’s path doesn’t go over on top of us unless you live near the equator. I assume you live in the northern hemisphere. Right now the sun’s angle is about 50-degree to the south side. That means if you look south and up about 50-degree at around 2pm pacific time, you will be directly looking at the sun. Wait till it’s winter where the sun’s path will be at a 25-degree angle. That’s why it feels like Russ does better in primetime games because there’s no Sun to worry about.

@Levi Scaggs Not to me. Their defense was way better than chiefs defense that year. I’m a chiefs fan and I know they were bad. During the 4 losses they had, (including the Seahawks) everytime they had the lead, the defense kept playing with it and letting the opposition take it, especially in the games against the Patriots and Rams.

@Levi Scaggs is one of the things you’re trying to say is that Mahomes is ONLY good because of his weapons. Because it seems like (to me at least) despite keeping them in the game, you aren’t giving Mahomes no credit.

Half of his career he was the third option. Meaning it was his defense and run game. Wilson was pretty much what the cowboys want Dak think bout it Wilson didn’t even win super bowl mvp. However last couple season Wilson has proved to be a top 3 QB in this league. I think Rodgers and Patrick only guys you can say are better.

What I can understand is how he never got a single vote for MVP. Last year he was toe to toe with Lamar but didn’t get a single vote to his name. It’s almost like they are boycotting him.
