Patrick Mahomes NEEDED a year to sit and learn behind NFL mediocre Alex Smith.
Russell Wilson was handed a 22-42 team the previous 4 years (all losing seasons) where the QBs threw 67 TDs and 69 INTs.
Patrick Mahomes was handed a 42-22 team the previous 4 years where the QBs threw 81 TDs with 26 INTs.
So where has Mahomes EVER had to carry a team like Wilson has?
Mahomes WALKED into a winning team, Wilson MADE his team a winning team.

@Devi Lisa I get what your saying but Wilson did have the legion of boom which was the biggest part of the Seahawks and hasn’t done anything since they disbanded ( and I know it’s not his fault his coach can’t get him a OLine ) and for patri mahomes he only sat behind Alex smith Because Alex smith was still a excellent QB it’s not like they needed to bench him for mahomes right away. People use their self given catchy nickname to overrated how good they really were.
2012-that defense had a 24-21 lead Wilson gave them with 5:21 left in Detroit and Brandon Browner got burned by crazy as Titus Young for the game winning score.
2012-Wilson gave them a 17-14 lead at Chicago with 23 seconds left and in one 56 yard play where Brandon Marshall burned Sherman, Chicago got to OT before Wilson won that game.
2012-Miami-Ryan Tanneyhill picked that secondary apart as he rallied them for the win.
2012-RGIII on the first 2 possessions of the playoff game, walked his team downfield for a 14-0 lead.
2012-Russell Wilson in record fashion had them 31 seconds from the NFC title game before Matt Ryan just toyed with that secondary.
2013-Seattle had Indy on the ropes when Andrew Luck basically told Ty Hilton to burn my former Stanford teammate (Sherman) who is slow as hell.
2013-Seattle was ready for the 17-16 win before Frank Gore ripped off a 50 yard run to set up the game winning FG with 9 seconds left.
That’s just Wilson’s first 2 years and you see it was THE DEFENSE who was either blowing the games or the leads and Wilson was cleaning up their messes.
In 2014, it was the defense who gave them the losses to St. Louis, Dallas, Kansas City, San Diego, allowed both Denver and Green Bay to force OT (where Wilson won both games in OT) and the defense blew that 10 point 4th quarter lead in the SB.
That’s how overrated that defense was.
Seattle is still winning and the reason they haven’t gone far in the playoffs is not because of their defense BUT the fact that every year since 2015, they’ve entered the playoffs or late in the year with too many injuries to star players.
Russell Wilson since 2015 played late in those years WITHOUT Lynch, Rawls, Graham, Lockette, Lockett, Carson (2x), Dissly (2x), Penny, Thomas, Sherman, Avril, Chancellor, Gordon, Ed Dickson, Diggs, Clowney, Britt, Fant, Baldwin and I could go on and on.
That’s how he has carried this franchise since 2012.

@Gino Khalifa wrong, in fact he, and the Seahawks offense overall, are notoriously slow starters each season. It’s midseason onward they usually pick up the pace, so it’s very exciting to see them hit form this early!

@Tab Leture stunts like that are really good lessons to learn from as a young NFL player. In college, he was so far ahead, could get a way with some jogging in lollygagging with the ball, but not in the NFL. Dude made up the ground and made him pay. He won’t forget that now!
