This was a good start for a new coach and o line. Definitely think we can beat the bears next week.

    Skrazor

It’s kinda funny how this O-Line already looks better than in the last few years, even though they had some major screw-ups, which can be attributed to inexperience. In a way, the biggest difference between this year’s O-Line and the one’s before is that there always was much room for improvement when it came to the Giants offensive line, but this year it looks like they finally also have the potential to actually improve. I’m curious to see the adjustments they’ll make for week 2.

    Balake

The o line did terrible when running the football. They did decent on pass protection though.

    ANYMUSICLIVE

Balake ironically how long has it been since we could say we had a decent pass pro line? ๐Ÿ˜‚

    Balake

    ANYMUSICLIVE a long long time๐Ÿคฃ

    ItsSaucy

it was a good game regardless they lost they are definitely going to win against the bears๐Ÿ™‚

2:44 Beautiful ๐Ÿ’‹๐Ÿ’‹love u๐Ÿ’‹๐Ÿ’‹

Christopher Toney

DJ what two interceptions/2 TDs against #3 ranked Defense with no Tate, sub par protection. I think still needs improvement to iron out kinks but with no preseason i think we did good tonite

    Skrazor

Isn’t it cool to actually feel kinda positive after a loss for a change, instead of being like “well, I wouldn’t have expected anything different” like it felt over the last few years?

    SeanPrestonFed

^ these guys must of watched another Giants’ game than I did last night… maybe in an alternate universe? Game I watched looked very similar to the nonsense that has produced 3 to 5 win seasons. Giants didn’t look close to being a winning football team and have mountains to move before they are. I bleed Blue… so saying that is disheartening and frustrating… but TRUTHFUL. ๐Ÿ’ฏ

    Lucas Martinez

Idk if this was anything like the last few years. This should not have even been close.

    SeanPrestonFed

@Lucas Martinez — Giants got a penalty-aided TD (suspect PI on Steelers on 3rd down) in 1st half, then got the proverbial garbage time late TD when game was over and Steelers in prevent D winding out game. Meanwhile, couldn’t run-block for Jack-S whole game, and Defense regressed and got softer/worse as game went on. All bad signs. Looked like a 6 win team, AT BEST… and way more likely to be worse than that. Overall… they played poorly and no amount of fluff rah-rahs by delusional fans or by ex-Giants wanting them to do well is changing that reality.

Jonathan Brown

Andrew Thomas played really well but that’s really the only positive from the oline play

Child Of God

That Right side looks like The culprit out there straight up whiffing on the blocks…how did you not getcho hands on the defender

Ravon Anderson

Giants never ran to left side behind Thomas/Hernandez. Every run play was to right. Why. Bad late int by DJ after long 19 play drive really hurt. Evan Engram was terrible!

    Gmen4life

You’re correct that INT I think was the play of the game all he had to do was run out of bounds are even take the sack and maybe score the next play.

    B Selman

Engram was so bad. Drops, terrible routs, missed blocks, a penalty… totally lost. They would have had at least 7 more points in the 1st half if he had a clue.

    Gmen4life

@B Selman Yup I’ve seen enough of him hopefully they can trade him if they can a 3rd or 4th round pick for him they should take it and move on.

    Gmen4life

@B Selman The giants are a run first team the run sets up the pass so a big physical T.E would suit this offence better not a small fast pass catching T.E our two other T.E made plays last night Smith and the other guy I can’t spell with his name lol

    Jeremy Soled

I think we should start kaden smith trade engram

B Selman

Question: Why didn’t they run any designed runs or bootlegs for Jones? Very frustrating.

    Gmen4life

Or a hurry up offence being that they where blitzing on every play

    Arnold Martin

Bro itโ€™s week one. And we will learn about that, but the TEโ€™s killed us, canโ€™t block, canโ€™t catch. But be happy our team battled Hard, on to the next game easy W

    Jay Carn

I agree, I don’t want to see that too much in general just because I don’t want to put DJ in harms way, but when the rush is getting to him that fast and consistent it could have slowed them down, made them think twice about rushing 6 guys up the middle every play when he can take off around the edge for a few yards and move the sticks.

    Skrazor

I’m fairly certain that it’s mainly because the Coaches wanted to use week 1 to make sure that Jones actually improved his ball protection before sending him into situations where it becomes a necessity. Now that he has shown more awareness for it, they can start to think about calling plays that rely on his athletic ability. You can’t rehearse it as much as you want during training, but it’ll always just be a simulation of an actual game day. You don’t want to go into week 1 repeating the very same mistakes that dragged you down last season, they’re still in an optimization stage with all the new schemes, coaches and players and I’m sure we’re going to see quite the variety of play calling in the first 4-5 games, until they’ve really figured out what works best in a real game with the roster they have.

    Keshon Smith

    To keep him from fumbling

Jeremy Soled

We had lots of great moments on offense and defense all we need is consistency thatโ€™s it this is a better team Iโ€™m proud of them

    SeanPrestonFed

    ^ El oh El

    Scarletbull

    Delusional! Loser 4 life!

SeanPrestonFed

I bleed Giants’ blue, but I’m also a realist and not a delusional fan (as many are); this was a poor showing all-around: poor overall offense and the defense got progressively worse as the game wore on. The Shurmur like “we fought hard, proud of the guys” response by Judge was concerning. I’ll be there like always next week and my loyalty will never waiver, but the G-men have a large chasm to cross before they resemble a good football team. I still think Judge can get them there in long run, but the Jints aren’t close to being a consistent winner. And that’s extremely frustrating….

Sam Petroff

You guys also have to block for Saquon

    ItsSaucy

    yes

Jason Nyarko

God Bless the Giants๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’™Don’t worry guys we’ll get em next weekโœŠ

BiGBluERuLes100

Engram weak link.

B Selman

Takeaways from Giants…
1. Play calling for Barkley was horrendous. MUST improve
2. Jones is a good starting qb… will learn from mistakes. Got beat by a really good defense
3. Engram is totally lost. Has no clue what he’s doing. Very low football IQ
4. Special teams looked good
5. Goal line and short yardage play calling was really bad too. I already have no respect for Jason Garret so I hope he improves.
6. Jones needs to have designed qb run plays.

Could go on about offensive and defensive lines, but that’s more about personnel

Charles Meckwood

Madelyn looks beautiful so thatโ€™s nice but the giants pretty much stunk the place up, Sean always sticks up for his old team lol , thatโ€™s the blue print on how to beat the giants stop the run at all cost and make wonder boy Jones win the game, and Iโ€™m sorry those sacks were oh look what I found sacks they donโ€™t have a good pass rusher on the team and they havenโ€™t had a good pass rusher since JPP blew his hand up , watch Washington they are going to be a lot better hope the giants get better too but Iโ€™m not seeing it now

Jaquon Larkin

It’s time to make a decision on Evan Engram … As much as I’ve been rooting for him he’s just not that good

    Scarletbull

Heโ€™s trash like the rest of the organization. Only Saquon is the truth.

    ItsSaucy

@Scarletbull i think shepherd is good too. idk why

DW X

Giants showed they still need more time maybe have some TE and RB lined up for screens or TE to help the center understand more liiks that the opposing defense is giving. Hopefully get to film room and keep learning and understanding assignments and improve

Corey Celestin

The giants are going to be a good team this year.

    SeanPrestonFed

    lol… thanks for the chuckle.

daniel decarlo

Eli woulda thrown that pass with his left arm
