Justin Simpson Simmons isn’t a QB though. We needed a QB. We got a QB. It’s not very hard to see what we were most desperate for, we’ve got a stout defense, but our offense just wasn’t producing enough to keep up. Besides we’ve still got the middle rounds. Get someone like Troy Dye in the 3rd to go fortify the defense, the man was really quite capabilities at Oregon, but he hurt his hand, and couldn’t make the combine. Dude looks like a nice sleeper. Then the defense is set, and the new QB can always get some nice toys or a line to work with.

@C-MO24-lo Mo Every QB was risky. Burrow was a one year wonder in the perfect storm. Couldn’t beat out Haskins or Barrett at OSU and was average his first year at LSU. Tua gets hurt a lot. Love is raw as hell. Every other QB besides Herbert doesn’t have a shot in the league. If you wanna go 9-7 and lose in the wild card round then yeah Tyrod is great. You can’t make a run unless you have a QB. If you don’t have a good QB then there’s no point in playing. You draft based on need, not just best player available. If the Chargers passed on him then the Pats, Saints, or Packers would’ve traded up immediately. How is this argument not compelling? Wanting Simmons instead of the most important position in the NFL sounds like something a 12 year old would say. Simmons wouldn’t change the direction of this franchise whatsoever.

And you really think Herbert is gonna come in year one and be able to win playoff games??? Come on man, name me one top caliber defense he didnt struggle with in college? C-MO24-lo Mo the leadership issue is not the problem for me. He will earn that locker rooms respect. My problem is him missing wide open throws, miss timed throws, throwing his receivers into defenders, and hi inability to go through his progressions. He cannot be forced to be a pocket passer right away. I think he needs 2-3 years to develop. He should have a play style geared towards cam newton/ josh allen.

Kenneth Murray is the best pure linebacker in the draft to me. And I justify skipping on Simmons by telling myself derwin offers everything Simmons does

Dude had a solid run game that year, and 9ers COULD HAVE been beaten that game. The God damn safeties played like shyt that day. If I can recall correctly, these idiots were constantly falling for the play-action. If they just stayed committed to the pass or even every so often, it would’ve been a good game….. The game almost reminded me of the 2018 playoff game against the Pats. Tom Brady was doing constant play-actions and the damn safeties would constantly pull down. Jiggy M Every ducks receiver was injured at some point in the season (not Herbert’s fault either). He had to work with what he had, and got an 11-2 record out of it. He’ll be fine, he just needs some time to refine his game, and the coaching staff, and Tyrod Taylor’s mentor ship will help him get there.

We still need another RB Eckler is decent but I don’t know about a 16 season starter another speedy receiver that has good hands a FB another TE would be nice also.
