He played way better at the end of the year. He played like a 1st round pick last 6 games

The ATTIC DWELLERS

Rough first year, but that’s expected. He’ll do much better under Coach Judge and a year of experience under his belt.

    Lucas Martinez

He has a good experienced DB coach who was just hired, so I expect a jump year 2.

Hypex Pickleツ

Pretty good start I dont know if he was worth a first round but he will get better as the years go by

    Sean Thompson

Hypex Pickleツ remember he was injured throughout the preseason

    Hypex Pickleツ

@Sean Thompson yes forgot about that thanks for reminding me also in my opinion rate him 7 out of 10 what about you?

    Sean Thompson

    @Hypex Pickleツ i give him a 7

    Hypex Pickleツ

the baker getting burnt alot haha did play better a end pls dont be another eli apple we need a solid cb for once

    Christopher Strebeck

How u gonna feel when Jones throws for 35 td this next year??

    Bill Russo

@Christopher Strebeck not if he continues to fumble the ball that many times, like this year.

    C Dot

Bill Russo He had 24 TD’s in 12 games. In 16 games that’s 32 TD’s, so technically he’s already right.

    Christopher Strebeck

@Bill Russo itll be fixed..jones will be an all pro in a couple years..giants fix that o line jones gonna be putting up Marino and Peyton Manning numbers..kids got what it takes and he’s tough..that injury was fake so eli could play..people should pay more attention..the injury just happens around the time giants play dolphins to send eli off into the sunset lol..jones gonna be an assasin

Anthony Gabello

Ok for him to have a season like last year as a rookie, but now it’s time for him to step up and become the lock down corner we know he is

ReeceNUFC

Saw the title had to see if there were any positives. He didn’t know the playbook? That’s coaching.

You guys are brave for highlighting him like this.
Baker absolutely killed us this year.
He has a big upside though. If he gets coached right and puts in the work he can be a good one

Nick Spagnola

I know he had a rough season and caught alot of heat throughout the start of the year but I loved that he got better by the end of the year. He also said that he didn’t fully understand the playbook by the midpoint of the year so I definitely think alot of his mistakes at the start of the year had come to coaching and schemes. Hopefully judge can utilize him and we can see how he progresses next year, been a loooong time since the Giants have had a shut down corner.

What I see on the MIA play is that Baker started at the jam limit. If he stepped up 1 yard and jammed the WR he could’ve took the route away. Not enough jamming in a league that has gone to quick passing routes.

It’s hard to tell but I believed that it was a combination of a scheme that was not clear to the secondary players as much as it was a problem of rookies being rookies all over that group. There were too many times when there were huge gaps on the field that were not covered and wide open for big plays..that had to be scheme and not skill. Beyond that was the problems of veterans not doing their jobs well in certain games. I am thinking that Jenkins had a number of plays get by him, Thomas as well and forget about Hamilton. Lots of improvement needed in the tackling dept. but it was clear that all of those rookies were playing better at the end of the year. If it works out we will have a great group of young veteran secondary defenders who are more confident this coming season with a defensive strategy that is more tactically sound. Peppers, Baker, Balentine, Beal, Halley, Love. Hard to tell about Beal though. Six games out of the 32 he could have played and of that six, he played the last three well enough.

Baker has too step up his game. With Judge being in charge now let’s see if he can bake some bread.
