The 49er’s comparison is just awful. Shanahan took over a 2-14 team that didn’t have a winning record in 3 years under Tomsula and Chip Kelly. Patricia took over a Lions team that made the playoffs 2 of the last 4 years, 3 of the last 4 years had winning seasons, and was 9-7 the year before he ran the team off a cliff. Patricia turned the Lions into that 2-14 49ers team, and the Lions need to find their Shanahan that can rebuild in 3 seasons
Absolutely spot on! I like Spielman but the 49er comparison is a completely false analogy for the reasons you stated and I wish people would stop making it. Bluto came in here full of bluster and f&*cked this thing up but good!!! I wasn’t a Caldwell fan, (I think we saw his ceiling), but this bozo has managed to make him look like Lombardi. Does anyone really think they need more time to evaluate this train wreck? And take that F&*ckin pencil out of your ear!! Hell, he makes me miss Marinelli’s shovel!!!
As for Sweet Pea, he’s had four years to assemble a roster. This crap about starting the clock when he hired fat boy is just that, crap. He has hit on some decent mid-level draft picks but his top end guys (rounds one and two) have been less than stellar and his free agent signings have been downright awful. And nabbing five year deals for him and his buddy??? The SOB is robbing the old gal.
Trouble is, you’re not getting rid of one without getting rid of the other and I doubt the Fords will be willing to eat both contracts. Even if Martha had the wherewithal to can these jokers. I knew we were screwed the minute the NFL pointed the old lady to Foxborough. The bad fruit from that tree has left a stink across the entire NFL.

Yeah we have Seen how the offense can make plays and the confidence should always be there even if one play didnt work. Like Matt Stafford just comes up next play and it gets the yardage. Defensively there was better play against some top teams earlier where coverage was there, gaps filled, tackles solid and Intensity was there including creating Turnovers!
I must say Chris Spielman sometimes you sound mentally slow I want to call the games and you said it went a lot of single man coverage half the time they was Blitzen they was running zone 2 man the thing that gets me about you have you noticed the Lions been playing a whole lot of rookies throwing them out there so when you’re playing with people with only been rookies or going to take a second year in the NFL and plus injuries they’re going to be some problems Bob Quinn has made some great decisions in the draft and bring it over certain free agents but you’re so quick to blame it on him what he clearly did not want Jim Caldwell at the coach but the Fords made him keep them he clearly didn’t want Jim Bob cooter and offensive coordinator but the forts made him keep them so now that they got the office of coordinator and the coast they wanted what clearly put them in a 2 year old by holding on to each one of them for an extra year you as a sports commentator come up here and say some of the dumbest s*** when you can’t have the people you want to help you win really sit there in the bathroom and think about what you saying you sound stupid that’s why I don’t see you cochino team or as a general manager
Honestly they were done at game one against Arizona… That was all the bad coaching that we needed to see. And he never once removed that pencil to take one note, not one defensive adjustment all year… Scared prevent defense prevents you from winning.
