No more questions about which Eagles DLINE was better 2017 or 2022 because we all know As Eagles fans 2022 Eagles DLINE is the ANSWER 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥.

I gotta give big props to the D line and the secondary for these sacks. I was very interested in how many times we brought pressure so I counted. We brought more than 4 guys a total of 12 times maybe 14 times. While we have stars on this line I’m not very enthused about how Gannon rushes these guys. I will say that maybe the new way to rush is by having good coverage. I’m only 29 years old but I was brought up on Jim Johnson’s defense so I know a thing or two about blitzing. I don’t think you have to blitz all of the time but disguise your blitz, it creates confusion and turnovers. These players need more credit because as a consumer of football I was easily able to point out “No Blitz, no stunts.” I’m not a QB or lineman but if I’m able to do that then imagine what the pros can do. There were about 2-3 plays where 5 men were on the line and there were only 4 rushers. I know my eagles are beasts but Gannon I’m worried about, he has yet to have a decent game against top QB’s. His philosophy is cover over the top make the QB throw underneath if our guys don’t win on the line. Against decent QB’s they usually have a completion streak that’s in the double digits. It’s shocking how simple our rush is and I’m just proud of these guys because they bail out his simple defense.

So yes the 85 Bears were absolutely nasty but I think getting a sack in today’s NFL is harder because of how easy it is to get called for RTP. Defensive players have to be careful how they swing their body weight and how they bring the QB down so to do this in this era is insane.

Giants did their best to not allow Philly to break the sack record. They were getting the passes out quick because Gannons stupid scheme has the corners playing way back
