Better not play starters that’s all I gotta say

DamnSkippy1

We sucked in all phases yesterday! Looked liked the per usual Vikings who are perpetual CHOKE artists! When I can predict what the play will be 80% of the time it’s no leap to say the other team can just tee off! Finally, Donatell needs to go! Worst defense I can ever remember seeing (been watching for almost five decades)!

    The Jingaja

I thought of it this way. We were a team trying to stay healthy against a team that were like animals backed into a corner. The packers were playing to stay alive while we were playing to fight another day when it mattered. I’m not at all worried about the playoffs I think we at least make it to the divisional round

    AtheismRules ☠️

    Yeah 😔

    DamnSkippy1

@The Jingaja I hope you are right. However, we should be really rolling at this stage. Instead, it still looks confused and largely broken. Key injuries and arguably the worst managed defense in the league doesn’t really equate to anything more than our per usual annual sadomasochistic testicle smashing. Again, I would love it if they made me eat these words. Truly.

casey James

Would be great if they use Reverse Psychology “These playoff teams don’t jump into super suits, they just Human know what I’m saying”😏 Sit the starters and send them into the playoffs HUNGRY

ShadowFlameGaming

I hope we can really embrace that underdog mentality and find our best ball in the playoffs. All the other NFC teams look human, we can go far if we rally and play consistent.

    Hue Yang

Like catch up mentality? Very nice idea. I think that’s what O’Connell and Kirky love.🤣

    hivicar

Pray for a quadrupling of mental clarity for o-line guys, and rt Udoh in particular.

Wuta63

If Bradbury doesn’t come back soon, he needs to be Reed’s shadow 24/7 to teach him what he is supposed to do! Knowing he was 3rd string C, you would think he would have been ready and that is also on coaching staff! SKOL!

    MrAdmvp

Ready how? You need snaps with the 1s and he never had that. That ain’t madden

Cavedog

If we are sick of being called frauds, we should probably stop playing like frauds.

    xxxleafybugxxx

@scott b nah I ain’t missing anything. At the end of the day, a win is a win. I take a divisional win, and a 1st or second round exit (if it happens it happens) for a year with new coach and GM, when we were supposed to be rebuilding

    Tawana Twaite

They had 3 injuries. That does not help with your top 3 offensive line gets hurt

    rubbersole

I don’t see them as frauds. Less than 3% of college players go pro. This is a tough league, and I see a win as a win, no matter what. “You are what you’re record says you are.” – Bill Parcels – Like Bill, I would be happy with a last second victory in a Super Bowl.

    Narrative Therapist

@scott b You sound like the type of person that would call them a fraud if they made it to the Super Bowl and lost to the Chiefs by 17. And that makes no sense.

O’CONNELL had a successful 1st season
whether you like it or not……

    Pakeli

His teams not showing up completely ruins it

    Lawrence Daniels

@Pakeli The Vikings ruined the Packers dominance of the North for the last 3 years, & they got pissed…. Lafleur & Rodgers are gonna use
all the tools to get in the playoffs, like keeping the Field uncovered the hole week😝

Bobby Baschet

What was it,10 men on the field and then 12 I recall being said? And why did they keep running up the gut instead of what the Packers were succeeding at which was running around the edge.I get it they’re hoping for Cook to break one but over and over all game long?!I was surprised to see the same frustrating calls from KOC and didn’t think he’d play it that way, with little adjustment it seems imo.It will be even more disappointing if Philly loses out.

sailing95

The Bears are tanking and the Vikings are locked into their #3 seed and will rest guys. Good seats still available!!!

Michael K

Use Nailor more to open up field for JJ, and give Adam some rest so he can be our fresh RZ closer. Nailor and JJ should be quick routes (not choice) for manageable 3rd down, we did this consistently on 3rd downs earlier this year, and once ranked 7th on 3rd%. Use Reagor opposite JJ to spread the field (Decoy) in a 4 WR look, just tell him to expect the ball and never stop running! No team is going to play us in zone coverage, that would be fatal for them, but we need a 2nd deep threat on the field to open things up in man coverage.

So, play some chess with the speed pieces you have to open that field up. We are too easy to cover with the starting line up, even JJ vs two competent defenders, our opponents are all competent and will be playing man. So far, that’s how you beat us. NE game was a masterpiece of moving the ball vs a good defense, that was playoff style offense.

    rubbersole

Ha ha ha……yeah I’m sure their scanning your posts…..looking for advice…any kind of edge. LOL!!!

    Michael K

@rubbersole Well, you read it, mission accomplished.

    Michael K

@TheyCallMeShim Yes, you could see this taking shape in recent weeks, but Colts game was a big setback for Reagor, and Nailor just got off IR in recent weeks. Not to mention the two are our only true back ups at WR 2 and 3, JJ does not have a true back up. Obviously you have to be careful during the season. I hope O’Connell does this in spades during playoffs, to your point, teams won’t be able to prepare. And Donatell better bring his kitchen sink from home, I swear he just needs to blitz more consistently throughout the entire game, not let teams build leads.

    TheyCallMeShim

@Michael K yes 100% and to your point about donatell, he def has been playing man and blitzing more in recent weeks, it’s made a difference but something I wanna see them do more on top of that is disguising… this team under zimmer was great at disguising what coverage they were in which really helped the pass rush get home cuz the qb has to take an extra second to make a post snap read.. with donatell they pretty much line up in what they’re running.. I’m not a coach on any level and I can predict what coverage they’re in or who’s coming and who’s dropping with about 75% accuracy. Imagine how easy it is for coaches and players who get paid millions to study your game to figure it out lol

    TheyCallMeShim

    @rubbersole they’re*

HTC 1M8

Hey KOC, you need to max protect KC. Use another lineman in the backfield and roll him out frequently. Why dont you throw deep more often. The opposition is sitting on your routes.

If you went JUMBO with a guard and full back to get 1 yard or just qb sneak and have the guard in the backfield push the qb in. Its not as difficult as people make it out to be.

Thomas B N4G

I really appreciate this coach more now after what is going on with Damar Hamlin. The first thing I ever heard KO say was “this is just a game.”Makes us know what is really important.

Steve Jones ll

Hey, were still here KOC, we know how good this team is even from afar. We have seen it, we have celebrated it, we have been disappointed, we have been amazed, we have seen broken records, we have seen brotherly love, we have seen defeat, defeat in the most embarrassing way, we have seen victory against percentages and logic and confidence.
But most of all we see our team.
We know they aren’t perfect,
At times we thought they were,
At times we knew they were not.
This has been this most amazing season
I have seen in a long time.
This team is a huge part of that.
This team is amazing no matter what happens
So go show them.
And SKOL baby!

    SLC Norseman

    Great post! Skol!

Steve recreational Marijuana is still illegal in this state.

Zen Fan

I hope they keep playing Jalen Nailor more often, he’s fast and a deep ball receiver, will continue to get much better, I also really like
Tykevious Chandler a running back they drafted, start using him, let them rookies use their talent to distract from the usual all the time 🤷🤸🏃

Tom Pasch

These players have struggled the past 4 years converting on 3rd and 4th down with 1 yard
To go. Yesterday was brutal and embarrassing. It’s not week 1 or 2. We also need some quick hitting passes, the strip sack fumble is a pattern

Sam Walsh

This loss is directly related to KOC and the coaching staff, not going for the TD at the one yard line, not having the players with the right cleats and lack of quality play calling. We have one game to clean this up and work off the rust, because once the off season starts, there is no second chances. I am super impressed overall with what has been accomplished this season, but everyone now needs to bring their A game from this point forward. The look on all the players that did interviews after this game shows how they feel about their performances and the coaching decisions. This is about not telling us that it can be accomplished, but showing us and the big reward is showing yourselves that you have what it takes. Come on Vikes, lets go get this and show everyone that we deserve it, everyone wins when you win. Skol!

Arthur A Bethea

Well spoken thank you coach for your consistency like you said correct the mistakes we made and move forward.😌

scott b

Love my Vikes but this team is bound for a 1 win or less adventure in this years playoff. When its over, Kevin needs to look at personnel and decide if he has the right players and coaches for the schemes his coaches want to use. I would like to see Donatell let go and I am not sold on this special teams coach either.

Biggest issue with this team right now is our offensive line and our defensive scheme. I am so tired of hearing others talk about players like O’Neil and Bradbury when neither are that good to begin with. The O line has been an issue for years now as Zimmer never invested much there. Interesting to see what they do in the draft to fix this.

    SLC Norseman

Right? Why do they never fix the oline?! You’d think that would be priority #1 with Cousins at QB. Doesn’t help we gifted two potential star WR’s to division rivals either.

rubbersole

Apparently, more reps won’t hurt.

B S

KOC, this season has been full of spectacular wins, which has been fun, but there have been far too many completely dissapointing quarters of football throughout the season, even in the wins. 4 games where absolutely nothing went right is completely inexcusable. Rest your starters and get ready for a playoff run that needs to be better from the first whistle to the last or you will be blown out again.
