Defense and O line is going to have to step up big time this week. Reeder needs to get some serious play time over Murray or Van Noy. He makes things happen.

Murray needs to be benched for Reeder. The guy can’t tackle. That missed tackle in the redzone sideline was embarrassing for a high school player. He should only get playing time against mobile QB’s he is too much of a liability.

Since I started watching the chargers, around 2007, I don’t think we’ve ever been able to stop the run. I was so hopeful for this season with new additions but as ever, we just can’t seem to stop letting teams run all over us

I will throw in the 3rd faze, the O and D have “done enough,” a really GREAT special teams with turnovers and BIG run backs would solidify our hurt team. Even take us in to the playoffs as-is, THEY need to play better and they have, the next level will definitely IMROVE our overall team and we won’t need the guy awaiting to come back.

O-line is banged up hopefully they can hold up. Go Chargers ⚡️

My theory on Staley:
Since the first chiefs game and Herbert’s injury. It feels like they’re purposely trying to win as many games as possible while exerting the least amount of energy and risking players as little as possible.
Staley has identified that it is more important to get healthy and hot at the end of the season to win the sb. It’s easier than ever to qualify for the playoffs. As long as you clear that bar, then you just have to win 4 games in a row.
So he’s showing as little as he can, doing the least possible to just win the game.

Defense needs to slow the Raiders run game of course. Offensively, Lombardi needs to call good plays in the 3rd quarter. He always reverts back to shitty play calling after halftime.

Without bosa carr might have time in the pocket today. Knowing this team well we’re probably going to start off slow and have to make a comeback. My score prediction is 30-26 Chargers ⚡⚡⚡btw I’m not confident in my prediction because this team is so unpredictable you just don’t know with the Chargers man 😂😂😂

And I definitely don’t want to see them try him at edge again they tried that experiment last year and it was horrible he just needs to be the backup rt now and keep trying to develop

It’s still a bad way to go about the game doing that it’s just starts wearing out the defense too much then they give up big passing plays anyways it just put more stress on your defense doing that you keep giving up a bunch of 4-5 yard runs eventually they turn into 20-40 yard runs or they turn into a play action 70 yard bomb it is just a bad way of doing it it would be different if the defense was at full strength with a bosa and a jc Jackson playing good and stuff like that it puts them in bad situations wears them out and just gives the other team a lot more chances at scoring or us making a mistake they need to do better at stopping the run and forcing 3rd and longs instead of so many 3rd and shorts even though for some reason we are better at stopping short 3 yard or less conversions than stopping the 3rd and longs I think it’s more of Staley just trying to force what he wants to do on defense instead of what he should do with the personnel that we have run more 4 down DTs on 1st and 2nd downs whatever you gotta do cant keep giving up 150+ yards on the ground good teams dont let you win those games cus it’s still a recipe for success like I get Staley’s idea of dont give up the big 40 yard pass but constantly giving up 4-5 yards on the ground is also bad too just do what you got to do to limit their ground game and when we get to 3rd down and know for sure they are passing then do what you got to either good coverage or blitz somehow cus we cant get any pressure at all with just 4 we have to rush 5 or 6 to get pressure

Yep I get what Staley is saying but its hurting the team still its making it harder on justin and harder on the defense and when you do that against a good team they beat the crap out of you you have too do a better job of stopping the run period because it just wears the defense out justin gets less time on the field and then it helps open up their play action so either way it’s not very good of a strategy plus we have been giving up big passing plays anyways a lot of the games we just need to tighten it up and start adjusting what we are doing I know he knows how to do it its just that it’s not exactly what he wants to do you have to play to the best of the players strengths that you do have we dont have no Aaron Donald in the middle of our defense and we certainly dont have no top 5 cornerback on the outside asante samuel and mike Davis and Bryce Callahan have all been good but certainly not what we wanted when they paid JC all that money he needs to adjust and stick with it same on the offensive side seems like Lombardi wants to force stuff that really doesn’t fit all the players he has and still wish they would get somebody as a wr that can run bye a defense the only person they have that probably can do that is hightower even if its only a few times a game give herbert sombody to launch that thing a couple times a game that’s justin’s best attribute is him just launching 70 yard bombs someone that does what guyton did you are absolutely wasting that weapon that could be used Carter is good but he isn’t running bye anyone same with mike Williams he is still really great at jump balls and all but we need someone that just can flat out run bye the defense its really dumb to not be having that on offense we k ow herbert can do it he was throwing 60+ yards like 4 or 5 weeks ago

We better start using more 4 down DTs on 1st and 2nd we need to have 6 active DTs on game day too it’s not enough they basically are playing only 4 DTs all game long they have to give SJD fehoko and fox more breathers just using gaziano a little and I do t think they are using that Tyler Davison at all they need more bodys there t oi help spell SJD ,Fehoko,and FOX they are the best 3 we have rt now inside until others can prove themselves gaziano is ok he has made some good plays for us in the past but we need bigger better beef inside if we had a arron Donald type in the middle we could run this light box more effectively but we just dont have enough to do that

We gave up just way too much and we put herbert in a bad position every time yeah we figured it out near the end there but it is really hard to win games like that letting teams run all over you is just giving them layups all game long and then it leads to even bigger plays later in the game you just gotta figure it out you got to stop the run period at least keep it around 100 or less

I understand the humility, professionalism, and just overall Herbert niceness. But I think Brandon Staley and others are sugar coating everything way too much. Unfortunately this unfortunately that. Take some accountability and start being real. Major change is needed.
